Like trying to build a better mouse trap, many have tried to reinvent the razor for shaving but the old double-edge safety razor blade and reusable shaver is still relatively unchanged and still very effective and economical after 120 years since it was invented. Not many things stand up to the test of time and innovation and remain as well appreciated as the simple double-edge safety razor blade. Astra, made by the inventor Gillette, has the distinction of being a tried and proven product for generations.

I have tried many blades and these are both good for my face and cheapest

Ive used other blades that leave me feeling perfectly smooth but after the first use of the first blade in the pack I realized that there was something wrong. It left my legs feeling sore and bumpy so I threw that blade away and went to the next one in the pack hoping it was a fluke. Tried the next blade and the exact same thing happened. I dont know if all the blades are poorly made or if I got a bad batch but I wouldnt risk it on such a large quantity potentially being bunk.

I have a tough beard, I get ingrown hairs like most people grow regular facial hair when I use a cartridge razor. I have to shave my face no less than 3 times with these blades to get a great clean shave but Im not complaining because I love the way my face feels afterwards. Ill definitely try the feather blades next but only a small pack because theyre way more expensive and I dont know how bad they will cut my face since my beard is so tough it might be better at shaving straight through it or it might struggle and cut me a lot. I bought 100 of these and I really feel like that was good value. I want to punch myself in the face thinking about all of the money I spent on Gillette and Schick razor cartridges that never gave me the perfect kind of shave that my Merkur and Astra blades give me.

I have used much more expensive blades that didn’t work as well. Holds an edge for 3-4 shaves (full face and head) and isn’t too aggressive. Blades are a pretty subjective rating...but these work fine for me.

I tried the Gillette platinum, RK, nacet. This one is the least comfortable, always had burns and necks.

Based on the positive reviews I thought Id give these a whirl. All I can say is, good thing I bought the 100 pack because it takes 3 razer per shave, and not even that good of one. I still have stubble no matter how many times I go over a spot. Mayne I just got a bad batch, but I think the quality of Amazon products vs retail, although cheaper, are reflected in their prices. You get what you pay for.

These are premium blades at a low price. With my beard,a Gillette cartridge lasts one week.Each of these blades also lasts a week with a better overall shave. 11 cents vs. 3 bucks. Gillette didnt abandon the double edge razor because of improved technology.It all came down to a more profitable technology.Dont play that game.

You access each package of five blades, through a cutout towards the bottom of the larger box. These are quality blades, that will fit any double edge (DE) razors. They are not overly aggressive, but will leave you with a closer shave than most cartridge style razors. You cant go wrong with the price, I highly recommend them
