> 3 dayThe monitor worked great for just under one year. Unfortunately, horizontal lines started appearing across the screen even when it wasnt hooked up to a computer. ASUS support is absolutely useless. DO NOT BUY A MONITOR FROM ASUS!!! It is so frustrating to have a product under warranty and then get the runaround by a company like ASUS. Online support and telephone support took hours and hours of time simply to get a ticket number to repair.

> 3 dayDesign: Very thin bezels and the stand allows for tilt, pivot and swivel. Good for a multi monitor setup. Image quality: Picture looks very sharp and clear compared to my Tn panel. No dead pixels on my unit and backlight bleed and Ips Glow is minimal. I only see glow in the bottom right corner. Dark scenes look ok on this monitor. Ghosting/ Input lag: The monitor displays little ghosting during fast scenes at 144hz. The monitor also has an Elmb mode that looks impressive at 144hz and eliminates motion blur completely, but has a faint double image affect that becomes more prominent at lower framerate. 60fps fighting games dont look too good with it on. Speakers: The monitor includes decent sounding speakers. Inputs: Has HDMI, Displayport and D-sub. The D-sub should have been another HDMI or Displayport as it seems useless for a monitor like this.

> 3 dayI received this product with a dead pixel in the bottom left of the screen. It was out of the way and doesn’t bother me so I didn’t make a big deal of it but it is a bit annoying paying this price for a product just to have a small defect right away out of the box. If it would have been in the middle of my screen this may have been much different as I’m pretty sure the warranty for this you must have 3 or more dead pixels for a return. Although, I am not positive on this. I just didn’t want to look into it. I love the quality and the features it has. You definitely won’t be disappointed with this monitor. The tilt and spin capabilities is awesome. You can adjust the height of the screen to your liking. The blue light filter is something I originally didn’t care about but now I find myself using it from time to time. The only other complaint I have is the set up of gsync/freesync. It is somewhat difficult to figure out and once I got it I was getting occasional flashes of a black screen. The only thing I wish this monitor had was easier compatibility with gsync and obviously no dead pixels. I understand dead pixels can happen on any monitor but seeing a black spec on your brand new screen is slightly disappointing.. that’s the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that, I have no complaints and this is a great product!

> 3 dayI have been looking for an ips monitor to replace my current Asus vg248qe for a couple of months now. The problem with the current market of gaming monitors is that most of the ips gaming monitors come in 27. Since I sit close to my monitor, this would be too large and uncomfortable for my eyes. I almost gave up and was going to settle with a 75hz ips monitor until I spotted the Asus TUF 23.8 VG249Q gaming monitor. This monitor is the real deal!! I previously gamed on a TN pannel and the transaction to IPS is glorious. Colors are very punchy compared to TN pannels. The only thing I changed in the monitor settings was color temperature. I changed it from warm to normal since it looks more realistic. Other than that, I have not touched any of the other monitor settings. Its that great! Not to mention, gaming at 144hz is an experience unlike any other and I am glad I didnt have to give that up in order to get an IPS pannel. Additionally, the almost nonexisting bezels makes the monitor look very sleek and save desk space. If you need an affordable 24 IPS gaming monitor with 144hz, l would highly recommend this product. Even though I only had this monitor for a short time, my expectations have been exceeded!! Buy this ASAP!

Greater than one weekI was looking for an IPS, 144hz, 1080p, 24 monitor for a long time, and this was the perfect choice! IPS looks insanely better than TN, but I could never find a high refresh IPS monitor for a mid range PC like my own. The only high refresh IPS monitors I could find were all 27 at 1440p, which my PC couldnt push enough frames for, or 1080p, which looks awful at 27 in my opinion. So this monitor was the perfect option. (Btw, Id stay away from the VG259Q. I tried that one first, and the colors on it were really messed up, and I saw a few other who had that problem as well. The only major difference is it being about an inch bigger, and being a bit more expensive.) The picture quality is really good too! The settings I landed on are: - Racing Mode - Brightness: 100 - Contrast: 80 - Color Temp: User Mode: R:90 G:95 B:100 - Trace Free: 100 Trace free threw me off a little bit, but thats just Asus way of saying overdrive. I suggest cranking it up to 100. At 100, I see no artifacts, and it makes the response time of the monitor feel way snappier. Given everything I said so far, I would have easily given this monitor 5 stars, but there are 2 major problems I have with it. 1. For some reason, Asus didnt include their amazing joystick controls for the OSD, and instead opted for ancient feeling row of buttons. My previous Asus monitor had the joystick, and navigating the OSD was sooo much nicer. 2. There is no aux output on the monitor, and the built in speakers dont sound that great either. Oddly enough, they did include an aux input, just in case you wanted to plug your iPod into the monitor and jam out... When using my computer, I can obviously use its aux output and run it to my speakers, but I like to play console games on the monitor sometimes too, and when doing so, I have no easy way to route the audio through to my speakers. To fix this, I bought this HDMI adapter that pulls an aux signal out, and I use that to plug into my speakers. Overall the monitor is amazing, and those couple problems arent the end of the world. Id still highly recommend it.

> 3 dayThis monitor is horribly blurry, yellow tinted. Do yourself a favor and buy any other monitor its not worth it. I returned and replaced the monitor thinking that the yellow tint was a defect but after receiving my replacement I learned that is just how the monitor looks. The replacement I got also was damaged with the frame bent causing backlight bleed. Definitely not worth the money or the hassle.

10-06-2025I bought the VG249Q to replace a defective Sceptre E255B-1658A. I originally only bought the Sceptre to replace a Asus VG279Q which was too large for my desktop setup. If I could have found the VG249Q a month ago I would have just gotten it. Its basically my old VG279Q with a smaller panel. Some cosmetic changes but otherwise identical. Same great IPS panel with great picture quality. I use it on my Xbox One X at 1080p@120hz with zero issues. Games look and run great. The adjustable stand is really nice as well. Only nitpick which doesnt really affect me it that it only has 1 hdmi input. Would be hard to gave multiple devices connected simultaneously.
