> 3 dayIf you want a monitor that will give you true, natural color, look somewhere else. This monitor is a waste of money - if I didnt miss the return window I would have returned it, heres why: Im an avid gamer and used the VG248 as my primary monitor. I wanted an IPS monitor with the same specs to use as a dual monitor, so I bought the VG249 (this one). While the IPS has certain advantages over a TN panel, the coloration options for the VG249 make it unusable for anything other than specific gaming functions. The main problem is that there is no Standard Mode, like on almost EVERY OTHER MONITOR out there. I have to choose between 7 different modes that all make pictures look nothing like the original taken on a camera. Mostly, the pictures come out with a reddish/darkening hue which cannot be adequately fixed by changing Windows or monitor onboard color settings (in fact, for most of the monitor modes, you cant edit color settings at all). This monitor is completely useless for doing photo or video editing, and if you want to do normal tasks like look at a family photo album, everyones face will look like theyre about to have a heart-attack. On the VG248, standard mode makes pictures look normal/the way they were taken. Yes, images are sharper, but the discoloration is abominable. What a waste of $250.

> 3 dayA-lot of people tend to push this monitor aside for other monitor forms and as such this doesnt gain much attention. However, this monitor has been great over the half year and I dont intend on changing it anytime soon. The quality is great, the brightness is amazing, and its amazing for gaming with its 144 hertz.

13-06-2025This is my first and last monitor Ill purchase from ASUS. Sadly, as you can see from the above pictures I have a single pixel defect on each. The first has a stuck red pixel. Programs that supposedly unstuck a stuck pixel did not work after a couple of hours and Im sure not going to press physically against it like some websites suggest. If it remained stuck it might as well be dead. So I refunded and tried again ... and ... I get monitor with a dead pixel! See the other picture. Sadly Ill take my $250 lost and call it a day and just leave this review here for anyone that stumbles upon it and hopefully I can save you a headache or two. The monitor is great when I can force myself to forget theres a dead pixel but quality control leaves much to be desired. PS: I understand the concept of pixel lottery and I dont care, Id keep refunding until Id get a perfect one but Im too afraid to get flagged by Amazon for refunding for a single pixel defect twice in a row. Doesnt the fact I have to gamble for a perfect monitor sound stupid to you because thats what I did here and lost.

> 3 dayI wanted a 144 Hz monitor because the main game I play is Call of Duty and 120 fps makes a big difference. Throughout the process of me looking into monitors, it was really annoying trying to find out if they actually could run 120 fps on the PS5. Obviously this varies game to game, but certain monitors just literally aren’t compatible for whatever reason. Can confirm that when you put the PS5 in performance mode, it will automatically enable 120 fps on games that support it. As far as the monitor itself, the IPS panel looks great for the most part and the actual build of it doesn’t feel cheap. Would 100% recommend if you’re looking for a good 1080p 144 Hz monitor.

> 3 dayPROS: -- No dead pixels on mine (this is the one thing I am wary about when it comes to ordering a monitor online) -- Perfect size for 1080p (high pixel density at this size) -- Brightness and contrast look great -- Lots of different settings in the menu -- Build quality seems solid CONS: -- Speakers sound ok, but not amazing; I personally use headphones so it doesnt matter to me -- Power button should ideally be right below the LED indicator, not half an inch to the left of it -- It looks like the border is only about 1/16 inch thick, but the usable part of the LED panel actually ends about 1/8 inch from the plastic frame, so if you are planning on running 2 of these side by side, be aware of that. You will have about 1/4 inch black border (including the frame part) on each side of the monitor. A minor point, but one that should be mentioned. As you can see, there really isnt much to complain about with this monitor. I set mine for 120 Hz (My current GPU cant run games at 144 frames per second anyway). Setup was easy. For a couple games I had to delete content of the games Settings folder in order to get the game to work with this monitor (namely Doom 2016 and RDR2) because those games stored settings from my previous monitor. Its hard to find a 1080P IPS that is this fast and has all these features in a small size. Most IPS 1080P monitors are 27 now, which is too large in my opinion. This is the perfect size for 1080P.
