We bought this as a gift for a 4 year old who quickly fell in love with it and sleeps with it every night! My own children (4 and 6) have one each as well and they have gotten a lot of love and play. I actually still have my original Pound Puppy from 1986 and this looks and feels very, very similar. I was so pleased to see that since many of the retro toys I find for my kids are not the same quality they used to be. The Pound Puppies come in a box that looks like a dog house, which adds to the play. My kids loved the concept of the adoption certificate and naming the puppies. They quickly set up a Pet Adoption Center and a Veterinarian Office with their pretend play things. This is currently my go-to gift for preschoolers, and I would recommend it for kids ages 3-8...and parents who were born in the 1980s!

I brought this for my mom for Mothers Day. She loved it. Shes in a nursing home, so its to know what kind gift to give. I remembered how much she loved my daugthers, until someone stole it. She was so happy to receive the gift.

Soft and fun. I bought this for my two year old son and he likes to hug it and carry around the house.

I confess I bought him for my 30-year-old self. This pound puppy took me back to my childhood! He is much softer and more snuggly than the original puppies and was worth the buy. I managed to get the grey one when the price dropped to $12.99. The original price seemed a bit high but it would still be worth it if pound puppies were really something you loved in your childhood. I highly recommend!

I grew up in the 80s, and never had the opportunity to get a full sized Pound Puppy. I always had the mni ones. So when I saw these were available, I had to get one for me, er, my 2 year old. She wasnt as excited as me, but she loves it nonetheless. I definitely met expectation. I came across an original one at a second hand store, and both are very close in appearance.

As an 80s child, I was beyond excited to find a Pound Puppy for sale on Amazon. I couldnt believe it & the price certainly wasnt an obstacle in acquiring it. How wonderful to relive the joys of my youth without having to break the bank or invent a time machine. Rainbows came shooting out of my face when I ordered that thing. It arrived in authentic retro packaging, just like when I was a kid, with the adoption certificate, sheet of stickers in the box & heavy duty plastic on the outside to keep it safe during shipping & handling. At first glance, it seemed a bit smaller than what I remembered, but then I remembered that I was smaller the last time I saw one, so Im sure thats a matter of perspective. Lol! Its the perfect size for a kid whod want to fit the whole collection on his/her bed. Theyre just big enough to hug, carry around & snuggle with, at home or on the go. Enjoy!

I was so excited to hear that Pound Puppies were making a comeback for 2019/20! Ive always loved Pound Puppies - when I was a little kid in the 90s, I had a few of the much smaller Pound Puppies plushies, and I continued collecting them as the toy franchise repeatedly changed hands/got rebooted throughout the 90s - 2000s! I also happened to find quite a few original 80s ones while traversing antique stores/flea markets. I just love dogs and I particularly never could say no to stuffed animals with sad, downtrodden expressions. I chose this Pound Puppy in particular (the white one with brown spots) because it reminded me of an 80s one I used to have that I loved. I love him! He has a soft, smooth fabric texture similar to an 80s Pound Puppy, hes stuffed a just-right amount which allows him to be sturdy yet still cuddly and floppy, and his collar even has a name tag that can be personalized (during the 80s, you could send a mail-away requesting a personalized Pound Puppy nametag, as well as an adoption certificate and a sheet of stickers, per archived commercials on YouTube)! By and large, these repro Pound Puppies are adorable and more or less identical to the 80s toys in terms of appearance. ...On a related note, the packaging housing the plush puppy is more or less the same as it was in the 80s as well! Included with each 17-inch Pound Puppy is a personalizable adoption certificate and stickers. I cant recommend these sweet retro Pound Puppies enough, whether you know a child who would love one, or if you grew up with them and want one for nostalgic reasons. :)
