Batman: The Movie

> 3 dayYes, its silly but youre probably not going to watch it unless you are a fan of the TV series as well. I bought this on DVD several years ago as a fix until the series became available. Its still too expensive for me to buy the whole show on either blu ray or DVD but the movie has all the same characters and bat-gadgets crammed into one goofy package. The quality of the streaming was really good and we dont have the best quality wifi signal in our house. Recommended as a diversion to chores or on a rainy day.

> 3 dayMaybe Ive been spoiled by the outstanding visual quality of the Blu-ray release of the television series, but to my eyes, the DVD version of this movie had better color saturation and the Blu-ray only very, very slightly improves on the overall picture sharpness and quality. Also, while the new bonus features are fun and are a nice addition, I do wonder why the From The Files Of Adam West photo gallery included on the 2001 DVD release was left off of the Blu-ray version. Surely there was enough room on the disc for its inclusion? While this isnt the only Blu-ray release of a movie that has dropped bonus features found on their older DVD versions, when everything else from the DVD has been ported over its a mystery why this one thing wasnt. Its kind of annoying to have to hold on to your old DVD for just one gallery of photos.

Greater than one weekClassic American production, what a great view. I would advise anyone to show the new generation this masterpiece. It reminds me of watermelon Sundays and hot summer nights when my heart was young and gay. Adam West the majestic somber faced master, with his devoted Burt Ward rallying as the perfect foil parrying and cavorting through the majestic sets of a magnificent bygone era. This movie represented the zenith of entertainment on this planet. The only series to go near it, was the Star Trek original with Captain Kirk, and the crew of the good ship enterprise, reward yourself and buy this, then purchase the box set of the complete series. I have not opened my set yet, I am still savoring the bouquet of the the haunting memories that linger within my soul.

> 3 dayI saw this movie when it first came out in theatres. This movie never ceases to amaze me. Although the TV series was intended for youths, it did very well in the ratings amoungst adults - including myself ater it went into sydnication. I bought this DVD a few weeks ago and I still laugh at this campy movie. The DVD includes an additional track on the movie that a person can turn on that has Adam West and Burt Ward doing an audio commentary. Although I am much older now I still laugh at the silliness of this movie. Is there anything that Batman does not carry in his utility belt. And shark repellant (and other unlikely sprays) in a helicopter? Theres something you dont see every day but I strong recommend seeing this movie.

07-04-2025All I can say is that I hadnt watch any of the campy, classic 1960s Batman for decades and this was my reintroduction to it. It was sooo much better than I thought it would be. All the stuff I noticed as an adult that got past me as a kid! Lee Meriwether is a perfect Catwoman, and its just a great story too.

Greater than one weekI remember watching the reruns of the show back in the 80s. Loved it. Then I watched then again in the 90s. Funny thing is I had never really seen this movie. Id seen clips of it but never in its entirety. Movie is great, still holds its humor and adventure after all this time. Definitely a movie for a simpler, less technology rich time. Nostalgia probably has a lot to do with it honestly, but I still highly recommend it.

> 3 dayWell since the same reviews show up for this and the HOLY special edition BATMAN of which I own 2 studio release copies, I wonder if this new Batman - The Movie (Special Edition) (1966) has anything different or just the studios way of getting more money for the same thing repackaged? Where is the series? Why are people able to transfer poor copies from the Action Network to dvd and sell when the studio has the masters? I know; let the buyer beware, but if fox doesnt get off the pot soon I may have to dig out my old vhs cassettes and transfer them myself, I am sure I could do a better job than what is out there, just need to find the time. back to the review- Does anyone actually have the new dvd? the one I have is 1.85:1 has audio commentary by adam and burt, has a tour of the batmobile, an all new featurette, still gallery, theatrical trailer & teaser, and the second copy I bought when best buy was dumping them for 6 bucks, a steal in my eyes. Anyway I will check back a day or two before they go on sale and if there is any info concerning something I dont already have I may have to buy it, if however it is just a way to get more money for the same ole thing... Now to echo my fellow collectors and batman connoisseurs- RELEASE THE 66-68 SERIES(save me the time)

Greater than one weekI grew up with this movie on VHS. My mother always hated it when I would pop it in for background noise. Now as an adult I can truly appreciate that camp that is the 60s Batman. Fully-loaded Barracuda repellent stocked in a helicopter? OF COURSE. If you enjoy this kind of stuff, not only to I say check out the TV series, I would also say go check out the Moore era bond films. These movies are dated in so many horrible ways, but they still seem to transcend generations. Good still fights evil, and there is still nowhere to get rid of a bomb.

> 3 dayOk, I remember the TV show and made sure that I was front and center of our black and white 19 TV. And, I also remember seeing this film in our local movie theater one Saturday matinee. And, I was too giddy at seeing my favorite TV show on a big screen and in color, that the details escaped me. So, one night recently, I saw the movie available on Prime. I clicked and sat back. I smiled and shook my head: how did I miss all these things? And, in the first 15 minutes I had a laundry list of mistakes and shortcomings. For example, there is a scene when Batman descends down a helicopters ladder--and for those of us who have rappelled or fast roped down a moving helicopter that is one of the scariest things I did--that I burst. Impossible. Then when Robin overshot the LZ of the yacht they were chasing and Batman sank into the water, what appears to be a shark--yes, it is very poorly made rubberized fake--attacks Batman. I said to myself, well, at the time, that was exciting! So, if you watched the TV show in black and white in 1966, saw this at the movie theater, take a trip, back in time, and sit back and smile.
