Benchmark Abrasives 5 Aluminum Oxide Quality Thin Cut Off Wheel for Metal and Stainless Steel 0.045 Thick 7/8 Arbor, Angle Grinder Wheel, Fast Burr-Free Cutting Wheel - 50 Pack

I purchased these to disassemble pallets made from steel rectangular tubing by cutting them apart through the welds. Ive been using several other brands of 4 1/2 cutting discs, and have run into short life, slow cutting, and even exploding failures. Not fun. I tried these Benchmark Abrasives cutoff wheels based on the reviews here on Amazon, and have found them to be the best Ive found. The extra half inch in diameter not only helps them last longer, theyll cut deeper when theyre fresh, and at a more shallow angle, both of which are a big help in my application. The thinness and aggressiveness of the abrasive help them cut fast with lighter pressure, which also helps them last. Theyre especially good when used with battery powered tools because they help the batteries last longer. And when I screw up and pinch one, it hangs together and doesnt explode, making them safer to use. Im on my second pack of 50, and that wont be my last.

i was using dewalt 4 1/2 cuting discs for my dewalt 4 1/2 cordless grinder, these are 5 inch cutting discs and they fit that extra 1/2 more disc makes a big in the amount of cuts per disc i gave them a try verry happy i did

For 50 of these 5 metal cutoff wheels at my local hardware store, Id be paying nearly $250! Im not sure how these are so inexpensive, but I just received them and the quality appears to be identical to the ones I normally buy. I will update my review after some actual use in the field, but I have no reason to expect them to perform any differently than the ones Ive been using. As typical with every brand of cutoff wheel Ive used in the past, the actual thickness is greater than advertised, but not too far off. These are advertised as 0.045 and the actual thickness is 0.0560 (1.42mm)--see my photos. The other brand I was using before this that also advertised 0.045 but measured over 0.060. EDIT: After using these in the field now, Ive had absolutely no issues. They work just as well as the ones I was paying much more for.

I use this for all my cutting needs. I’ve bought this brand before and will get more when needed.

These are the first cut off disks I have used. I am cutting used saw mill blades. I can cut out two tomahawk blades with one disk. They last alot longer than I thought they would.

By far one of the toughest blades on the market. Ive tryed blades from the big box stores and they do not last as long as these. The life,sharpness could not ask for better.

Not the most expensive wheel Ive ever bought works as well as any Ive ever used no complaints will buy again
