> 3 dayWe’ve had the pleasure of homing many dogs over the course of our lifetimes. Both puppyhood and old age oopsies have seen more carpets torn out and rugs thrown away. It’s rare to find a product that blows your mind, but this machine really does. We were able to save a 5 year old carpet that embarrassed us with the small strong of pee when guests arrived. You’ll get your money back quickly if you’re an animal lover!

> 3 dayUsed for some pretty deep stains, unfortunately. Did a good job, not sure they could be fully removed, but it took 85% of it out. Ging to try again. Pretty easy design, and unlike a typical floor model, this one has CAPACITY. Large water tank is separate from waste tank, so you can go longer between changes. Recommended.

17-11-2024Yes, it is expensive, but forget buying the smaller, lesser machines. Unless, that is, you are someone who doesnt have a space for a machine this large. I have now had this thing for over four months and it has saved my carpet. I have 7 cats. Running over a great swath of cat vomit with this machine is like taking an eraser to a chalk board. Sweep sweep sweep and it is gone. I no longer cringe when my senior cat, Toby, has a problem. Because I know the solution is just sitting there in my closet. I had a room upstairs filled with over 50 birds (I was breeding canaries), and a tortoise in a house. I got out of breeding birds and found a better place for the tortoise, and then I found myself staring in horror at the carpet under the two aviaries and the tortoise house. I had several inches of accumulated bird dander and seed dirt under the aviaries. The tortoise had dumped her water repeatedly and the red substrate I had as her bedding got wet and soaked into the carpet under her house to the point it was literally black. I tried my smaller Bissell and it really did very little. I saw this machine and hated the price. But I bought it anyway. It is literally on my top five purchases EVER in my life. It took 10 repeated shampoos to get that carpet in that room looking like new. Which it does, by the way. I cant even believe it--even the black carpet under the tortoise house looks new. You cant buy into those pictures that show a filthy floor and a path of perfect cleanness behind the machine like its done this with one swipe. It takes repeated shampoos. I used over an entire bottle of cleaner to get that room to the point that the water in the tank was finally clean. Anyway--if you are chewing your nails at the price, dont. Better to get a machine that does the job at the start, then get lesser machines that kinda sorta do the job, until you one day throw up your hands and go for the big one. You save money in the end to not buy the smaller machines. Unless, as I said, you dont have the space. Or maybe you live alone and you arent very strong. This thing is rather heavy. But I find when I want to take it upstairs, its easier to remove the two tanks first. Also, Bissells anti-urine odor product that goes with this machine is very effective. My Toby liked to pee on my carpet in one spot until I found premium cat litter to get him back to using his box. My entire condo smelled like pee after the first shampoo as this machine drew up all the nasty stuff from the carpet pad under the carpet in that area. After the second shampoo I wasnt smelling urine anymore. At all. And now when I walk into my condo I no longer smell that disgusting smell. So do I recommend this machine and the products that go with it. Hell, yes! Best investment I have made since I bought my home.

> 3 dayWe had set in pet stains from our puppies that were awful! I was embarrassed to have anyone come to the house. We had the carpet professionally cleaned, but that didnt help much at all. As a last resort before buying all new carpet, I decided to order the Bissell Big Green Pet Pro Carpet Cleaner. The reviews were good, so I thought it was worth a try. It was amazing! It met all of my expectations & then some! Two people who had seen my carpet before & after, couldnt believe the results! They both said That is quite the machine! I would buy this carpet cleaner again with no hesitation! It is excellent & easy to use!!

> 3 dayI dont know why i was wasting so much $ letting carpet wash man do the job and they wouldnt do it aa good as me. If you think you use it more than 3 times a year it pays for itself in 1st year , just get you a good shampoo reagent ( i got zepp) and mix it with water and spray that on stain, brush it manually and use the same shampoo for big green and you will be surprised how clean it comes out, i have used it 2times and if i wanted to pay someone to wash the way i washed they would easily charge me 250 if not 300, So it has already paid for itself.

> 3 dayI purchased my Big Green in December of 2015. I have a home in the country where dirt is more likely to be tracked in, and I also have both dogs and cats. I use this shampooer around the whole house 2 or 3 times a year and use it for heavier traffic areas maybe 3 or 4 additional times within a year. It pulls an amazing amount of dirt and wads of pet hair out of the carpet, especially in high traffic areas, despite me regularly vacuuming. I follow manufacturers instructions and clean the Bissell thoroughly after each use, so it still looks and works like new. I use Bissells professional ultra shampoo which is what originally shipped with the shampooer. That shampoo leaves the carpet soft with a light clean fragrance. I have used the Big Green twice on upholstery, and it performed well for that task as well. I feel like I have truly gotten my moneys worth from this purchase, since the cost of a single professional cleaning was 75% the price I paid 7 years ago for a shampooer I have used at least 35 times!

> 3 dayHave danced around purchasing one of these units for several years/ carpet shampooers finely bit the bullet and i should have done it two shampooers ago. Easy to assemble, easy to clean afterwards and does a fantastic job at cleaning. The only negative is its weight but that is also a positive as the weight helps keep keep the suction on the carpet were you get to suck up all the dirty water! Do not hesitate its worth the extra money and it was delivered ahead of schedule seems like the first time in a long time something arrived ahead or even on time for delivery

> 3 dayOur carpet is 13 years old. It is a very high quality dense pile plush carpet. It’s light beige and had slowly become dirty enough that I was considering replacing it. We regularly vacuum and do not wear shoes in the house. At roughly 1500 sq feet of carpet, this was going to be quite expensive if replacing, so I decided to invest in this Bissell Big Green machine. Our Hoover Steamvac never seemed to get the carpet fully clean and it no longer could remove the traffic patterns no matter how hard I tried. I had about given up and the Bissell Big Green machine was our last hope. I’m happy to say that our carpet has been brought back to “almost” new. After shampooing with this new machine, if I asked someone about our carpet I’m sure they would think it’s new. This machine is amazing! I had to erase 13 years of use, and this is my procedure. Vacuum VERY well first. There is not need to make the machine pick up stuff that you could have gotten with the vacuum! Fill the tank with hot tap water and use the recommended Bissell PRO shampoo at the recommended dose. (two cups for a full tank) I pretreat the heavily soiled areas with the Bissell spray stain pretreatment and rub it into the carpet by hand. After 5 minutes of letting that soak, I pick a section of carpet roughly 6 feet wide by 10 feet long and do one forward pass and one backward pass over that whole section with the shampoo being dispensed. I do a row forward then back, then move over and do a row and so forth. I then go back over that area only sucking up the residual shampoo/water. without dispensing more shampoo. I then repeat with a second forward and reverse pass with shampoo and another pass to suck up the residual water. I then do a third and final forward and reverse pass with shampoo followed by sucking up the residual water. By this point the carpet has typically been fully cleaned. If not, I go over any areas as needed. Typically during the second to third pass is when you really see the magic happening. Typically, on the first pass with shampoo the machine will pickup and leave many dirty carpet balls in it’s wake. This is all the crud that the brushes are pulling out of the carpet. Im not sure why my vacuum cant get this stuff, but the Green Machine pulls up stuff that you didnt know existed in your carpet. In my case, these are NOT carpet fibers, but rather small hairs, dust, etc. and they are dark gray/black clumps. Normally I can suck these back up just by passing back over them with the machine. They end up in the dirty water bucket and get poured out when emptying the bucket. The machine works wonders and I’ve been able to completely remove traffic patterns. It takes some time, but be patient. This machine is head and shoulders above your typical home use carpet shampooer. I haven’t been more happy with a purchase in quite some time. This literally saved us thousands of dollars and our carpet looks practically BRAND NEW after 13 years of use. Attached are photos of some of our carpet just before using this machine, and about ½ way through cleaning this particular room. Even if this machine puked on me today, I’ve gotten my money’s worth. Couldn’t be happier. It’s about as loud as a vacuum cleaner. I haven’t tried any of the attachment, as I already have a hand held portable upholstery/stair cleaner. Highly recommnded.

Greater than one weekLet me begin by saying that I am no expert when it comes to cleaning, but when my carpets reached a point of no return, I knew I needed a miracle. Enter the Bissell Big Green Professional Carpet Cleaner, a heavy-duty machine that promised to transform my dingy floors into a pristine oasis. Little did I know that this experience would turn into a comedy of errors that left me both astonished and laughing uncontrollably. Gather around, my friends, as I recount the tale of The Great Carpet Catastrophe. The Decision: It all started on a gloomy Saturday morning. With a mug of coffee in hand and determination in my heart, I made the bold decision to conquer the daunting task of carpet cleaning. The Bissell Big Green Professional Carpet Cleaner had caught my eye with its stellar reputation and rave reviews, making my choice clear. I headed to the store, feeling like a fearless warrior ready to battle the dust and grime lurking beneath my feet. The Assembly Fiasco: Unpacking the Bissell Big Green was like deciphering an ancient artifact. Every piece seemed to have its own mysterious purpose, and I found myself scratching my head in confusion. As I meticulously followed the instructions, I couldnt help but chuckle at my lack of mechanical prowess. Eventually, after some trial and error (and maybe a few swear words), I managed to assemble the machine. The Battle Begins: Armed with the Bissell Big Green, I approached my carpets with newfound confidence. I pressed the power button, and the machine roared to life. The suction was intense, and I felt like I was wielding a mighty vacuum sword. As I moved across the room, I reveled in the satisfaction of seeing dirt disappear before my eyes. It was a victorious moment, and I couldnt help but let out a triumphant laugh. The Soap Spill Spectacle: Just when I thought I had mastered the art of carpet cleaning, disaster struck. In my enthusiasm, I accidentally knocked over the bottle of soap, causing it to spill across the freshly cleaned carpet. Panic set in as I watched the soapy mess spread like a wildfire. I quickly switched off the machine, but the damage was done. Now I had a clean but incredibly foamy carpet, resembling a giant bubble bath. It was both frustrating and absurdly comical. I couldnt help but burst into laughter, accepting my fate as the clumsy carpet cleaner. The Epic Cleanup: With bubbles covering the carpet, I knew I had to act swiftly. Armed with a bucket and a mop, I dove headfirst into the sea of suds. As I battled the soapy tidal wave, my neighbors must have thought I had lost my mind. But amidst the chaos, a surprising realization hit me - the Bissell Big Green had not only deep-cleaned my carpet but also provided an excellent workout. Scrubbing vigorously, I discovered muscles I never knew existed. I chuckled at the unexpected silver lining while working tirelessly to restore my carpet to its former glory. The Happy Ending: After what felt like an eternity, I finally managed to clean up the soap spill fiasco. The carpet was pristine, the bubbles were gone, and I couldnt help but marvel at the power of the Bissell Big Green. It had transformed my carpets into soft, fresh havens. With a newfound appreciation for the machines capabilities and a heart full of laughter, I declared victory over the great carpet catastrophe. Conclusion: In the end, my experience with the Bissell Big Green Professional Carpet Cleaner was an adventure filled with unexpected twists and turns. From the initial assembly confusion to the soapy spill debacle, it was a journey that kept me on my toes and left me in stitches. Through it all, the Bissell Big Green proved to be a reliable and effective carpet cleaning companion, redeeming itself even after the hilarious mishaps. If youre looking for a machine that can tackle the toughest carpet challenges and provide some comic relief along the way, the Bissell Big Green Professional Carpet Cleaner is undoubtedly the one to choose.

> 3 dayI should start this review by saying that my carpet is original to my house, which is 26 years old. I have had the carpets professionally cleaned and I have done them myself many times. I have owned several carpet cleaners in the past and really hesitated spending this much money for another. I have to say it is worth every penny! Seriously, it got out things I thought would never come out. My son had spilled Dr. Pepper behind a metal file cabinet in his bedroom, and of course didnt bother to mention it to me. It had set in for about six month by the time I found it, and the file cabinet had rusted on the soda. Not cool! So while I held out little hope, I pre-treated the stain with the cleaner that came with the machine (mixed with water) in a spray bottle. I let it sit around 10 minutes while I did other parts of the carpet. When I went over that area, almost all the stain came up, including the rust. I did go back and use the pre-treat again several times and each time more of the stain came up. There is a very faint rust stain that did not come out but you really have to be looking for it to see it. I found this machine to actually be more quiet than others I have used, which is not to say it isnt loud, because it is. But compared to other machines, even my husband commented that it was not as loud as the last one we owned. It cleans way, way better than other models I have tried and I didnt spend half my time running to the sink to empty and refill the tanks. I was blown away by the amount of water/solution that was sucked out of the carpet. Most other machines, even the professionals, leave the carpet so wet. Last time I had my Berber carpets cleaned it took 4 days to dry! With this machine it was mostly dried in 3 hours. I did have one spot that took till the next morning, but it was the area I went over several times. It was easy to operate and cleans on both forward and backward stroke. I also used this on my sofa, chairs, and an area rug with similar results. The hose is long enough to clean up the stairs, and the electric cord is long enough to not have to move it, at least in my house, very often. The Cons- It is heavy, which I guess is why it works so well but if you have stairs, you will probably have to carry it up in pieces like I did (machine, tanks separately). It did drip a little when I was carrying it to be emptied, which I hate, but every other machine I have owned has done the same...........Grrrrrrr! I dont like the water flow indicator. This little disk spins on the tank to show you the water flow. If you arent paying attention (I get into the zone when I clean and did this several times), you will be moving the machine around but no water/solution is being released. The way the tanks fit together make it a little difficult to tell when they are locked together. I was releasing solution into the carpet and nothing was coming back up. Had to turn the machine off, take the tank off and put it back on and fiddle with it to Lock it down. All of that said, I will and already have recommended this machine very very highly. Its really all about the clean!! The cons I listed are all small things that are more bothersome than real problems. I am please with my purchase and love that my carpet looks almost new again. Good for another 26 years??
