Greater than one weekThis carpet cleaner from Bissel is super easy to use. It comes almost completely assembled, only requiring you to fit the clean water tank and snap in the handle. Once thats done, simply add water to the desired fill line (small area or large area) then add cleaning solution to the next line. As an initial test, I used this to clean the carpet of a medium sized bedroom. The rug did not have any real stains except for an area that had been discolored due to one of our dogs sleeping on the same spot for many, many years. I did not try the pretreat mode, but did use the max clean mode on that on discolored spot and used the quick dry mode on the rest of the carpet. There was a slight improvement in the discolored area, but I did not expect much as this spot has been many years in the making. I will go back over it again with the pretreat mode next time. I was also pleased that cleaning the entire room only used about on half of the small area solution (although I am sure that I would have gone through that much faster if I was using the Max Clean mode). However, the brown water in the dirty water tank attests to the amount of dirt removed even in the light cleaning mode. Cleanup was also very easy. The dirty water tank is easy to rinse and the roller cover pops off easily and can be rinsed out without too much effort. Even though I thoroughly vacuumed the room first, there was quite a buildup of dog fur in and around the rollers. It cleaned out easily, but I have to wonder if that could have clogged and compromised cleaning ability of the machine (possibly requiring an intermediate clean out). Overall, I was extremely impressed with how easy it was to use and how effective it was at pulling up dirt. It did not fully remove the old stain in my carpet, but it really would not be fair to expect it to (and I do suspect that repeated cleanings will likely make continued improvements). I also am looking forward to using the hose/attachments to clean our carpeted stairs. It appears to be well made and of high quality and I can easily recommend this carpet cleaner.

> 3 dayFirst, trying to troubleshoot was a pain in the butt, I usde the QR code, and I got another ad. Finally able to get to a chat and half hour later the response I got was here’s your local repair shop since it’s under warranty… WTF?!? I don’t have time to screw with this, I have a new rescue puppy who isn’t housebroken. So much for being so supportive. Returning to Amazon, much faster than dealing with Bissell.

> 3 dayI previously had a Hoover carpet cleaner and recently switched to this Bissell. First, it is about 35% wider, has a steam mode, has gallon fresh water tank, 2 brushes and handheld attachment. It works way better than expected, which is always a nice surprise, however I havent used attachment yet. Tip-Use hottest water from tap for best results.

> 3 dayPurchased this after reading a review online. I figured it would be cheaper than hiring a carpet service for two smaller rooms. Pros - cleaned some really bad dark spots and the rooms look 100% better. Used almost two tanks of solution per 10 x 12 room, so it would be take a fair amount of effort to try to clean a whole house. Also, in my opinionthe machine would need to be cleaned several times. Cons - no doubt my error, as there is a learning curve, but I didnt make enough passes to remove the solution from my carpets. Basically they took two days to dry completely. This is not the machines fault, I just needed to follow instructions better. I used another brand of eco-friendly cleaning solution, as Bissell has a fragrance, and I didnt want to have any lingering smell.

> 3 dayIve always liked Bissell products and the companys support of animals. I needed a carpet cleaner, so when I saw the commercial for this one and found it here on Amazon, I jumped at the chance to get it. Our beloved Jack Russell passed away a couple years ago and were now adopting a new dog from a family member who cannot keep theirs and she arrives in a few weeks. Weve been redecorating and/or renovating rooms and I decided to do a REAL Spring cleaning as well. Obviously that had to include cleaning the rugs and carpets. When I moved the nightstand next to the bed, I found 8-yr. old coffee stains. I remember exactly when the man spilled the coffee, trusted that he cleaned it all up and forbade any future libations in the bedroom. As pictured, you can see that he didnt clean it all but, you can see in the other photo that THIS BISSELL REVOLUTION HYDROSTEAM DID!!! AND, I couldnt even use the steam function because I couldnt properly fit and run the floor unit between the bed and wall. Its a non-movable, king-size bed on a platform with drawers, so I crossed my fingers, then used the hose attachment to clean this part of the carpet. The cleaning solution is amazing! Im convinced that this unit can handle any dirt or stains thrown at it by 4- and 2-legged animals. I used all 3 settings and was happy each time. The quick-dry setting worked well on area rugs over the hardwood floors. So all rugs and carpets are clean and fresh. The solution has a fresh scent that nicely permeated the rooms, but not overwhelmingly so and it quickly dissipated. My hubby and I are both sensitive to fragrance and had no problems. Its a process to disassemble and clean this unit but hey, same with my vacuum cleaner. It was an easy process and, as instructed, I left the tanks and other parts out to air dry in the utility/laundry room before reassembling. The only thing that took a couple of days to fully dry was the hose, even though I hung it with both ends down and shook it out each day. It is a waffled hose, so thats kinda-to-be expected. A storage bag is provided and hangs easily. Everything fits easily in the guestroom closet. Great product!

> 3 dayDO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! I purchased this carpet shampooer thinking the steam function would help deep clean my carpets. Boy was i wrong! It left my carpets soaking wet and they took multiple hours to dry. Only purchase if you enjoy walking all over wet carpets for half the day!

> 3 dayThe steam does not work. I’m disappointed as this is the feature I was most looking forward to. In addition, there is no rinse feature so the soapy water residue stays on the carpet. I expected better.
