California Air Tools CAT-4710SQ 4710Sq Quiet Compressor Gray 4.7 gallons

> 24 hourThe 4710SQ is fantastic. Ive owned many air compressors over the years including large units-and this one is the best. It is small enough to stash on a shelf but has the duty cycle and throughput of many big units that are 5-10 ties the size and cost. I was a bit skeptical about the quitness claims-and figured the unit would need a sound enclosure like every other compressor Ive had. But the claims of quite are true. You can see from the picture that the unit is out in the open and needs no sound enclosure. I have the unit on a remote control so that I can turn it on and off without using the switch on the unit-but have to leave a note on the door to remind myself to turn it off when I leave---it is so quiet I forget it is in the room. Specs-wise, it is everything that the specs claim. My old compressor would trip the breaker if other tools were on because of initial current draw-this unit starts by brining the current up slowly with no step function of draw so the breaker trip problem is gone. ALso, the regulator actually works and I can properly control pressure into my tools.

> 24 hourI had a pancake model...I think 4 gallon. It would power on and make me jump. While running it would rotate in a cirxle wrapping up the cord. The it finally stopped building pressure and I had to replace it. I turned this one on and thought it was in some typr of pre-operating mode and waited for it to the kick in. It didnt because that is how quiet this actually was. It didnt vibrate in a circle either. Pressure built up nice and really impressed with this. I got this because of the lifespan and quietness while still having power.

> 24 hourCompact and quiet for indoor production use. Have it located under a workbench out of the way. Performs exactly as advertised. Very pleased.

> 24 hourThis air compressor is quiet and easy to use. The packaging is TERRIBLE! No arrows on box to indicate which side is up. Unit was obviously dropped HARD upside down. Received with a bent handle. The motor mounts were also bent. These I was able to straighten out. Also the air filter was SEVERELY damaged (crushed) by the movement of the compressor within the carton. A replacement is coming. In spite of the shipping damage the compressor works great.

> 24 hourI have been using the same pancake compressor for about 12 years and the noise has always been unbearable. This new compressor is so quiet I dont even notice it running. I havent used it for anything yet besides a few test drives on my brad nail gun but it seems up to the task. I am absolutely overwhelmed by the quiet. I hope this one last as long as the last one but regardless the silence is worth the price.

> 24 hourArrived in working condition. Attach the rubber feet booties, the air filter tube, and you’re set. I’ve only been doing light work / nail gun, but just happy to report it works as intended. Also- the tank fills pretty fast, less than a minute.

> 24 hourVery quiet! Works well, easy to assemble, fast shipping! Had a harbor freight 21 gal compressor that was so loud it couldn’t be used inside. Plugged this in in my kitchen to test it out... almost as quiet as my 56dB washer... very happy with it!

> 24 hourProbably my favorite purchase in the past year or so. I watched comparison videos between these and standard compressors and was worried it would still be too loud. These are insanely more quiet than a standard compressor, the comparison videos do not do them any justice. With how quiet this unit is, I have to wonder how much better the ultra quiet models are, as this is just quiet. That said, I went into this knowing a bit more than the product page mentioned. If you look through all the reviews you may find some that question whether or not they got a used one. These are new, but if you look at California Air Tools page that sells them you will see something left out of the product page here. It mentions there may be paint issues and I believe it also mentions slight corrosion on the fittings. Mine arrived with very slight paint discoloration in some areas and the zinc fittings with some corrosion, no corrosion on the brass. While I didnt see any reason for this listed, I have a feeling these have been stored for a period of time in a warehouse that was not climate controlled. I didnt have any issues with leaks like some have mentioned. I did end up taking off the quick release and adding a 90 degree elbow and a ball valve so I could push quick connects down into place instead of pushing them in from the side. Ball valve was added so I could shut off the air before the quick connect so I can leave my hoses/tools hooked up without air leaking out from them just by turning the valve. My rating may have been lower had I not known about the paint/corrosion issues before hand. But I knew and in my humble opinion its well worth the low cost its at.
