You can probably find cheaper compressors but this unit is so quiet and the recovery time is great. It is not too light but you don’t want to compromise just to save a few pounds. This is the second compressor I’ve purchased from California Compressor.

Compact and quiet for indoor production use. Have it located under a workbench out of the way. Performs exactly as advertised. Very pleased.

Its really as quiet as everyone says it is if you insert the little tube into the air filter, thats the magic. It really does fill as fast as they say it fills. Ive used mine a handful of times now to inflate tires, dust a few PCs, and even do some cleaning around the house (that pesky spot between the carpet and wall, 100PSI really gets the dirt out!). My vacuum cleaner is louder. Its as quiet as my microwave. Everyone is right, these are great. I get suspicious when I see a lot of 5 star reviews all saying the same things. Nah, this is justified.

Im using this system in my garage for air guns and cleaning. Im also using it for model airbrushes when doing lacquer paints. This compressor is almost as quite as my twin cylinder hobby compressor I have on my bench in the house. Excellent value for the money. This unit actually cost me less than my hobby compressor but it is much more versatile.

Very quiet. The fill time seems longer than stated may be due t my high altitude. Not for spray equipment. Been using it in a garage. Probably will run nailers. for the price a good choice. Also no leaks which is not common even on a new compressor.

Ive tried at least a dozen different brands, mostly the high end stuff. They all chattered noisily! I tried this small California air tool brand to test for noise and now intend to go up to a larger hp/vol

I have owned/used air compressors for about 25 years now. This air compressor by far is the quietest air compressor I have ever used! I truly cant believe the absence of noise. I did replace the coupler right away because it had a very slow leak. To be honest the couple was most likely fine and the problem probably could have been solved with a little Teflon tape, but it needed replaced because my tools use a different style coupler. Overall, this is an excellent product and I would purchase another and recommend to everyone who likes to hear themselves think.

The noise level really is quite nice. I’m not speaking scientifically, but the noise of the compressor itself pales in comparison to using a small attachment for cleaning out crevices. In other words, blasting dust out of a car seat cushion or door jamb *feels* about 4 times as loud as the noise of the compressor recharging its pressure. I also like being able to adjust the output pressure down to basically 0 psi. On the downside: The recharge span is factory locked to 30psi. This means you can have the compressor kick on at 90psi and stop at 120psi, or kick on at, say, 40psi and stop at 70psi, but you can’t drain the tank all the way down to 10psi and have it charge all the way back to 120psi. I would’ve liked to use something like the latter to slowly bubble some air through a bucket of compost tea without the compressor kicking in every hour. A bit of labeling stickers would be nice too; the manual is fairly complicated.

This particular compressor is replacing a Central Pneumocystic* pancake unit that I bought cheap from Chinese Cargo*, which was really only good for inflating bicycle tires sometimes. Not only is the CAT4710SQ nearly silent compared to that thing, it delivers the goods as far as pressure and volume go. I am now happy that I also bought an upgraded air hose (a Giraffe 3/8 hybrid) instead of another craptastic pre-coiled job. It is not lightweight, though. If not purchased through Amazon Prime, the shipping cost would be as much as the compressor itself. I could wish that there was an add-on available for purchase that would allow for a set of wheels to be mounted. Overall, I am very pleased with this unit. Not quite sure what thickness has to do with an air compressor, but I gave it 5 stars for whatever that may be. *not the real name

This thing is great. I also have a 60gal belt drive oiled compressor in my shop. This thing is quieter than the 60gal. So far it has had no issues, I dont see any reason to have any. Its easy to tote upstairs. I got this mostly for nail guns. I used to fill a 5 gallon tank and use that in the house for my nailers. When the nails stopped sinking deep enough, I had to refill. I should have bought one of these years ago. Im happier I got this higher flow model over the single stage ones, supposedly they are quieter. This thing is quiet enough to use in a small room and not worry about bothering other rooms. The nailers are way louder.
