> 3 dayThe noise level really is quite nice. I’m not speaking scientifically, but the noise of the compressor itself pales in comparison to using a small attachment for cleaning out crevices. In other words, blasting dust out of a car seat cushion or door jamb *feels* about 4 times as loud as the noise of the compressor recharging its pressure. I also like being able to adjust the output pressure down to basically 0 psi. On the downside: The recharge span is factory locked to 30psi. This means you can have the compressor kick on at 90psi and stop at 120psi, or kick on at, say, 40psi and stop at 70psi, but you can’t drain the tank all the way down to 10psi and have it charge all the way back to 120psi. I would’ve liked to use something like the latter to slowly bubble some air through a bucket of compost tea without the compressor kicking in every hour. A bit of labeling stickers would be nice too; the manual is fairly complicated.

> 3 dayThe price was great and the unit works fine. At this price if it breaks down you can afford to throw it away.

> 3 dayFor a small compressor, it is very efficient. It is nice to be able to hold a conversation with anyone in the room.

> 3 dayI use this air compressor for airbrushing and I love it. It not loud at all. Yes, you can hear it but not so loud that its drowns out everything. It doesnt take long for it to fool back up after it kicks on. I highly recommend if you are using it inside a building. It is only a fraction of the sound compared to a pancake air compressor. It is not light weight. So its good for sitting in one spot and leaving it.

> 3 dayI read the reviews and this is everything I expected and more. It’s really, really quiet which I love. The only draw back is it’s not on wheels and is very heavy to move a round. Other than that it’s a fabulous buy.

Greater than one weekThis particular compressor is replacing a Central Pneumocystic* pancake unit that I bought cheap from Chinese Cargo*, which was really only good for inflating bicycle tires sometimes. Not only is the CAT4710SQ nearly silent compared to that thing, it delivers the goods as far as pressure and volume go. I am now happy that I also bought an upgraded air hose (a Giraffe 3/8 hybrid) instead of another craptastic pre-coiled job. It is not lightweight, though. If not purchased through Amazon Prime, the shipping cost would be as much as the compressor itself. I could wish that there was an add-on available for purchase that would allow for a set of wheels to be mounted. Overall, I am very pleased with this unit. Not quite sure what thickness has to do with an air compressor, but I gave it 5 stars for whatever that may be. *not the real name

> 3 dayI have used air compressors in a commercial capacity for decades, now - all brands, all makes. California air compressor makes the best, by far! And, this one (4710SQ) only pulls 7.7 amps while cycling. I have a larger version and a smaller version, also pictured. I work in a lot of RV parks and I get no complaints, at all. FYI, the smaller version 1P1060S is a must for any one that has an RV, for sure
