I really like this over wood. Not sure what my pig prefers, but this stays packed more tightly on the cage floor than wood, so when she runs around her cage, it doesnt get tossed around. by the way its VERY blue. it looks like her cage is filled with cartoon water.

Good ground cover. Turtle likes to burrow under it. Light and fluffy. Has an odor, but it goes away after a couple of days.

Ive been using this product for my furry little friend and havent had any issues with it up until now. My last order was for 2 of these packages and BOTH emitted a very foul, unpleasant odor upon opening. I immediately got the impression that the padding was sent used since it smelled just as bad as when its soiled, but the packages were factory-sealed and therefore cannot say so. Not sure if the manufacturer added/removed any elements to this product recently or theyve been just laying around neglected somewhere in the same warehouse, but Im definitely seeking other options. There are many 1-2 star reviews here reporting the same. What was once such a great and reliable product now lacks quality and value. What gives???

Can get a bit dusty but it is mostly dust free and works well!

I typically use Critter Care natural bedding but figured Id give this a try. At first I didnt notice any issues but about a week after I made the switch, my hamster started to act strangely. She was breathing incredibly heavily, she was barely able to walk, and just generally looked like I was about to lose her. I did some research and just based on the breathing, the assumption was she had some sort of respiratory issue. I decided to read through reviews here and found a bunch of folks who said their critter developed a respiratory issue after using this bedding. I quickly dumped the bedding, put in a tiny bit of her old bedding as well as some tissues (as a temporary solution) and ordered something else for overnight delivery. In the 5-minutes since I changed the bedding, she has gotten a long drink, filled her pouch with food (something she was refusing to do - probably because she couldnt breathe) and started eating. I have no doubt the bedding was the problem.

Works really well to hold down the odor. I dont have to clean the hamster cage as often as with other bedding.
