I was going to give this product a 5 star review, but since using it 3 times it is not accurate. I spent way too much time one evening driving around trying to find a hook up that wasnt showing reverse polarity in an area that had a bunch of RVs already hooked up. The second time I used it showed no reverse polarity, but the third time at a new location it started out showing normal polarity but began showing reverse occasionally with the red light flickering on and off from bright to dim. The first green light would get dimmer as the red light brighter. I purchased a 15amp plug in circuit tester and used it at the RVs outlets and it was showing normal polarity. Unless someone or something was switching polarity I do not believe polarity would arbitrarily change back an forth. Also if the power supply was reversed at the source, it would also be reversed at the RVs plug. A different replacement surge protector has been ordered, I did not want to chance it again with this unit since its not all that cheap.

It was exactly what I needed for my new RV.

RVs are staggeringly delicate creations and require any number of additional gadgets to keep them running properly. A good surge protector is a non negotiable item that you cant risk being without for even one day. Our old one did its job beautifully for a year. It saved us twice from surges at two different campground hookup poles. None of our appliances or electronics were damaged and no fire. After the second event, it was time to replace it. This unit is physically larger than our old one, but it does the same things. The lights indicating power post status are clear and easy to read even in daytime. Our 30amp plug fits properly and after ten days, the entire system is cool and working properly - no excessive heat build up.
