> 3 dayI bought this adapter for a two-week trip to Switzerland. It was fine for the entire trip, right up until I was on the flight back home to the USA - literally. My seat on the plane had a USB charging port that was not working. Both my phone and tablet simply were not getting any power from it. Since I also had one of those universal sockets at my seat, it hit me that I could plug this adapter into it and use its two USB ports to charge both my phone and tablet. That worked at first. Then I decided to plug in my laptop to use that, too. The adapter didnt like this. It started to smell strange and got very warm. Then I noticed the light on the airplane outlet went off and then back on a few times. Not wanting to risk a fire at 34,000 feet over the Atlantic ocean, I immediately unplugged it. I never plugged it back in again. Im planning to throw this thing out as I am afraid to trust it the next time I travel to Switzerland - how do I know it wont start a fire on the next airplane or next hotel room where I need to use it? Be careful if you buy one!
