This is a wall switch cover that keeps the switch from being flipped on or off easily, and can be installed so that you need a pencil inserted in the top or bottom to activate the switch. Its made of fairly thick acrylic, so it should last for a very long time. As for the questions Amazon asks above about it - it has no motion detection ability - and it has no remote control - its just a wall switch cover - thats all.

If you have a light that is hooked up via zwave or some other smart system, these keep the switch on so no one turns it off and you then have to re-pair it again. I used it for my motion controlled porch light as a family member kept turning the light switch off and i had to reset it. well no more after i saw this device.

This is a great guard for light switches, I have used others in the past and they force you to have the light switch on or off. This one makes it hard to switch but not impossible, so you can leave it where you want it and if you want to change it you can do so with no tools just have to work at it.

These are totally worth the money. I paid $7,49 for 3 of them and I will probably buy another set for other areas of the house to cover the infrequently used switches. You just unscrew the switch plate, place this on top and put the screws back. Incredibly simple and I love that they are clear. The other versions of this I have seen were not clear so you had to make 100% sure you matched the color of your switch plate so they wouldnt show. This one also had optional tabs on the side that you can remove so you can flip the switch easily if you want. Or you can leave the tabs on and push a pencil/pen in the top or bottom to flip the switch (if you have kids, etc). Great solution! Looks great!!

My wife tends to always cut lights off. I have two 3 watt LED bulbs on top and bottom of stairs that I wish to always be on for my safety. She has not figured out how to operate switch with shields on and I sure am not going to tell her.

Very useful for avoiding turning off lights that should be left on all the time, such as motion sensor lights, but its still easy to turn them off when desired. Because they are clear, theyre not very obvious, and you dont have to think about whether they will match the cover plate.
