Clover 1053/K Amour Crochet Hook, Size K/6.5mm , Green

Best hooks, comfortable and easy to use!

Last year I bought a set of Clover Amour hooks at a local craft store, and theyre amazing. While this one comes under the same brand/style, it is not the same quality. The hook part is hard plastic, instead of metal. The grip is also hard plastic, instead of the nice rubberized grip on my other hooks (which allow me to crochet for hours with no discomfort). For close to $9 for one hook, I expected better. Its not a size I will use often - its for a couple of specific projects - so it will do, but Im disappointed.

I love the Clover Amour hooks on the whole, and I have bought all of the regular and large sized ones. Their shape and grip suits my style. The only reason I give this one 3 stars is because I would be so much happier if it were metal. If it were metal, I could use it. But I find the resin material pretty much unusable with acrylic yarns because it wont glide. So I have to choose between the toothy squeaky feeling of this one, or the nice glide but, for me, much less optimal hook shape of the Tulip Etimo K hook (metal). The Etimo usually wins.

I purchased all 7 of the larger amour crochet hooks (6.5mm-15mm) and LOVE them. They are great for using with chunky yarn or even helping loosen up a project if you have tight tension. I definitely think they are ergonomic. My hand never tires and I crochet for a few hours every day. I love the hook style as well because yarn glides smoothly on them and never snags.

Im in love with all of my Clover crochet hooks. This particular hook is plastic, which helps it glide easily through any kind of yarn. The hand grip is smooth, helps reduce callouses and soreness. The only hooks Ill buy anymore!

Excellent option for arthritic hands. Very comfortable to hold and extends time of use. Will also extend the years I can continue one of my favorite hobbies.
