This is an all plastic hook, but when you get up to this size, it is clear why it has to be all plastic.

The clover hooks works so well. I wasnt sure how Id feel about having a grip on it but it is so much more comfortable to work with. Clover is the brand I trust for crochet hooks and I have even bought some for my mom.
