I bought these magnets to hold up very thin curtain rods on metal doors and they do the job well. These magnets are super strong and dont move with a light brush. It takes a little bit of effort to actually move these magnets, especially for fine tuning their position. As long the the metal surface is sturdy I think these hooks could hold mugs, or something of a similar weight, with no issues.

These are fantastic! I have one as a wreath hanger, and one at work down near the floor to keep my laptop bag out from under my chair (luckily, I have a metal wall).

These will not support anywhere near 18 lbs. Not even 1 lb. Very disappointed.

I don’t know what “stretch” means in reference to these, but I didn’t want to give a bad review. These are really cute and strong. I love having the pop of green on my fridge and I use them to hang towels and kitchen utensils. Definitely would buy again.
