> 3 dayI love my Coleman lanterns (white gas not propane). Something about camping with these lanterns and stoves remind me of my childhood. Sometimes finding these mantles means spending a few dollars on just a pair (overpriced). I was very happy to see a two pair pack for under $3. Campers look no further! Genuine Coleman product!

Greater than one weekTying the mantles on my propane lantern is just a routine part of camping at this point. Theyre simple but necessary, and easy to forget about. A 4 pack usually ensures I have 2 for my camping trip and 2 tucked away for the next one. I prefer the tie ones to the metal clip ones personally because these grip more tightly and I have had fewer problems with them ripping, sliding, or falling off. Burn or snip the strings after youve tied them securely, burn the outside with a match or lighter, start the propane flow, light it from below the globe, and youre good to go. The ceramic is very light and delicate from that point forward, so be careful if you choose to move it. My battery lantern serves its purpose, but theres still nothing like a good bright propane lantern for a campsite.
