I was so excited until i realized it was swaying. The fiberglass handle was frayed towards the handle and could easily snap. I hope the replacement does not disappoint like this one.

The only thing I like about this umbrella is the 24 rib canopy which give an impression of being amazingly strong. It does have a good bit of weight to it but is still manageable. This is the second umbrella I received. The first one arrived damage. The ferrule was smashed in and it was obviously hollow, so dont put any weight on it. The first one also had a major issue with the locking mechanism and would not stay closed. Being a very strong umbrella that automatically opens and cant be kept closed unless snapped was a terrible experience. Lastly my biggest complaint is the handle. The title and the description both state Solid Wood Hook Handle & This umbrella also has a solid wood hook handle. respectively. This is obviously a lie. A few days after receiving the second umbrella it fell out of my vehicle when I opened the door and struck the concrete. This chipped the finish revealing some sort of fiberglass/resin handle. If you look in the second photo youll see a metal collar where the handle joins the shaft is not only cheap looking but a new addition to the design that is not show in the sellers photos. On top of that, the quality of the install terrible. It does not sit flush or straight. I really really like the canopy. Its elegant and sophisticated. Everything else on this umbrella is a joke. The old adage is true. If you want something done right youll have to do it yourself. I plan to replace the handle and ferrule shortly.

Living in Oregon, we get a lot of rain/wind. I like how sturdy this umbrella is and the ease at which it opens. This is a great umbrella.

Looks great but, first one had a shallow catch and the umbrella would spontaneously open. Second one had broken wood handle with splinters where you grip it. Third one had a loose metal ring around the handle, had to glue that. Not sure why there are so many rave reviews. Three duds in a row?

EDIT: Well every thing seems well made and specd, except the plastic collar that is part of what holds the umbrella closed. The plastic is soft, and quickly developed a groove in it, which now renders the catch useless, and the only way to keep the umbrella closed now is with the outer strap. The item is still stellar at shielding me from rain, but its now a PITA to close and keep closed. Rating reduced from 5 to 3 stars. Nice umbrella that seems bullet proof in all but one glaring area of design. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I expect this umbrella to last a long, long time. Its solidly constructed of what seem to be quality materials. No aspect of this thing feels weak or sub-standard. From the tip that could be used for defense, to the solid feeling, nice looking wooden handle. One thing, with solid materials and solid craftsmanship comes some weight. This is a large umbrella, its no totes! Its made to last, and hold up to winds that crumple most anything lighter. At the price, I could not be more satisfied and would gladly recommend it to friends. Just not my elderly mother, its not meant for someone with grip/hand strength difficulties. Again, that said, its really no bother to carry around or use. The crook of the handle makes it convenient to hook over ones forearm (unless youre Popeye), to free up both hands for a moment. Also handy for drying while hooked over the shower curtain rod. I would buy again, but really dont expect to have to, unless as a gift.

This is my second C&C London umbrella only my first one was stolen. Their products are superior and the brand is constantly improving and iterating their products i.e. moving from a velcro strap to a snap closure, eases on snagging on other fabrics and is also more secure. Improved wooden handle and engraving. open/close button. The above-average rib count is a nice aesthetic to it in addition to it helping withstand high wind. Customer service is stupendous. Highly recommend.

I live the bright color of this umbrella. It also feel sturdy.
