Greater than one week1) I do like that the book uses different colored links to illustrate new patterns - I wish there were the same colored links to practice with in the kit. 2) While the book included in the kit is well written and the pictures are crystal clear, it may not be helpful for some learners. Youtube can help- keep searching the pattern you are trying and eventually you will find someone who explains in a way that you understand. 3) I purchased this kit for my classroom, and found there to be enough rings for 9 kids to work on several different projects, with plenty left over. Its a good starter kit for small projects. 4) Chainmail Joe has amazing customer service! I emailed the company to try and figure out what I needed for our class & they were outstanding in helping me sort through my confusion.

> 3 dayThe instruction booklet is a decent quality with clear instructions and many designs, it comes with all the rings needed to make each one and decent pliers! Not enough rings of any size to make a big project, but enough to make smaller projects of each design. Perfect for learning! I’ll be back to buy more rings!

> 3 dayThrilled with this kit! Im a lifelong crafter (74 years young) but just got into chainmaille. I dove right in and started buying everything I would need..pliers, jumprings and findings. Spent quite a bit on all this but still needed to buy more rings in different sizes. Then I came across this kit from chainmaille Joe. I received it today and it was the best present I ever bought myself!!! I would have saved a lot of money if I saw this first. No complaints at all...pliers are better than the ones I have, TONS of jumprings. Assorted closures. Easy to follow instruction guide. 5 stars al the way!!!

Greater than one weekThis kit has jump started my new favorite hobby, and was a great price for the amount of rings you get! I have since ordered more rings from a different company, and the gauges do not match up. Unfortunately, I do not have precision calipers to be able to discern which company is using non-standard sizing, but I can tell you that what Chainmail Joe calls 18g, Weave Got Maille calls 16g. That being said, within itself, this kit is incredible. The pliers are good and sturdy (Ive since upgraded to ones with sharper tips and more comfortable handles, but these are good for beginners), the book is easy to follow and understand, and the rings are bright and shiny with very few flaws (Ive found a few where it looked like the saw jumped when cutting the rings off the dowel). Id definitely recommend this product for beginners who want to try several different weaves and find their own style!

> 3 dayI am quite happy with this purchase as well as other individual bags of Chainmail Joes anodized aluminum rings to complement this kit. Easy to open and close - a nice variety of sizes. Great for someone who is starting out like me.

> 3 dayMy boyfriend bought me this for Christmas, after me verbally drooling over it for a month or so, and I LOVE this. The images in the book are large, clear and easy to make out which ring(s) go where, so for some weaves I just wasnt able to understand, this cleared everything up. The rings are bright and shiny (although there are some burrs on some rings, with 23k+, I wouldnt expect not to find some), and there are plenty to complete any number of the projects again and again. The pliers are comfy in my smallish hands, but the edges on the working side are sharp, so be prepared to either get them ground, have Tool Dip around, or use an extremely light touch. I hope they decide to do a similar kit in assorted AA, someday, or add some to this kit.
