Cooler Master MasterCase H500M ARGB Airflow ATX Mid-Tower with Quad Tempered Glass Panels, Dual 200mm Customizable ARGB Lighting Fans, Type-C I/O Panel, and Vertical GPU Slots (MCM-H500M-IHNN-S00)

This is a great case. Simple but has lots of features. Something I didn’t like was the fact that Cooler Masters own RGB lights I purchased separately do not work with the fan controller board attached to the back of the MB plate. It’s a great idea: have a hub that you can connect all of your fans to instead of trying to find and run wires to each MB fan post. However, the hub doesn’t let you control the fan speeds. And their own fan packs they sell need a separate controller box to change the lighting. Wha??? That means with those fans you can only do a limited amount of customization. Very limited. Like 6, one of which is ‘off’. Still, I am keeping this case as it’s really nice and looks great and great price once you add more colored lights.

Overall great case. The two front fans look great and work great. Cable management space is adequate but could be better and I do wish the 3.5 rack was further to the right to leave more space for cramming cables in to the psu bay. I do have one problem with the case and that is the RGB connector for the fans. It comes with a controller but for gigabyte Mbs like the one I had it said to use a different connector and plug it straight into the board via an RGB connector. The problem was that no connector on the board fit the connector so I ended up having to use the included controller which wasnt a problem but if you are someone who likes to frequently change colors of you pc and dont want to have to take the back panel off every time then I would recommend a different case.

My core reason for purchasing the H500M was to improve my airflow situation. I was previously using a Deep Silence 3, a case that was focused more on reducing noise than cooling. I didnt add any additional fans or coolers to the H500M Happy to report that it was a success. My 3800x idle temp went from 45°C - 60°C down to 35°C to 45°C. Gaming temp dropped from 75°C - 85°C down to 55°C to 65°C. Thats just using the stock Wraith for cooling in both setups. I also saw a 7°C drop on my Sabrent NVMe drive when idle & a 10°C drop when gaming. The only thing that didnt change much was my 970 GPU. it does have a 5°C lower idle, likely due to lower overall case temps. At full load, its still hitting 75°C to 80°C, same as before. But the good news is that temps of the other parts are staying low when the GPU is at full load.. Overall, the build was pretty simple. The entire swap took about 45 minutes, much of which was cable management. I may end up adding an AIO or more fans at the top of the case, but Im pretty happy with the results thus far.

I, like many others, am on the search for a case that is both functional and has the right amount of RGB. I have gone through all the phases with my PC - mini itx cases (Coolermaster NR200P, Jonsbo D31 mesh, Lian Li Q58), Mid Towers (Corsair 4000D, NXZT H510), Open Air Cases (Thermaltake P1 & P3). Recently, I have decided to go down the route of a full tower PC case that can house all of my fans, hubs, and RGB accessories with ease. This case caught my eye as its sister case 700 EVO is out of my price range. This case was designed for one thing, airflow. There is no shortage of fan configurations in this case. I currently have 2 (200mm front fans), 3 (140mm Noctua bottom fans), 3 (140 Noctua side fans), 2 (120mm back fan), 1 (200mm top fan) & 3 (120mm LLs top). Needless to say, my PC stays cool under any load placed upon it. My CPU ( Ryzen 9 5900x) @ idle stays around 35C-40C. Under load, it stays below 60C, which is impressive for that specific CPU as it runs hot. My GPU (EVGA 3090 FTW) @ idle stays around 35C. Under load, it doesnt go past 72C. I do not have any overclocking/underclocking enabled. All stock. The case is massive, compared to what I am used to. However, this is by design. The building was seamless. For the most part, this is a toolless case. I liked the locking mechanism that Coolermaster has designed to be used for most of the pieces. Specifically, the back panel is used to hide or rather, keep all the cables/hubs in one place without having them protrude and prevent the back cover from being snapped on. This stood out as I have 4 hubs (2x corsair Commander XT, 1 Commander core & 1 Node lighting). The front mesh panel of the case allows for adequate airflow. If fans are set at an appropriate fan curve, the case is silent. Coolermaster included two fan hubs. One that allows for the RGB/fan speed and another to accommodate additional fans for the case. All of these will be controlled via the motherboard, but a nice must-have. The RGB is standard if thats your thing. The Coolermaster software is bland compared to icue (corsairs version). For my case, I have cables that convert basically any manufacturer 3-pin RGB to be compatible with icue (thank you PirateDog.com). Overall, I am satisfied with this case and if the full tower setup is what youre looking for, include this case as one of your options. Keep in mind that its LARGE. So, if you are limited in space, this may not be the right choice. Happy building!

I love it. I was skeptical that it would be too tight. I had a phantek p400 few years back and the MOBO was super tight, couldn’t plug in In peripherals straight. This one is much better. And the fans in the front are absolutely gigantic and quiet. LOTS OF AIR FLOW IN My specs: I7 Cooler master 240mm AIO RTX 2070 32gb vulkan ram Z590-PLUS ASUS MOBO I Recommend this case It has a lot of rgb connectors but just follow the manual and you should be set. It came in already connected w/ great cable management.

Excellent case!

I am extremely happy with this case. There is a video around somewhere on YouTube where they did review on cooling with this and like 20 other cases. Not only did it come out near the top but it was also one of the cheaper ones. It definatley lives up to that. The cooling is great. I only added one extra 140mm fan at the top vent and set it as an extra exhaust fan. I have a 2080 nvidia and an i7-9700k processor with a cpu cooler that is probably not good enough for that CPU. I run a temperature tracking program and my cpu and gpu dont get hotter then about 62c during heavy gaming at max settings. Its all very quiet too. My old gaming laptop seems like a loud boiling jet engine now. For my first pc build i found the directions were easy to understand. The important screw holes and cords in the case are also labeled so its easier to know what to do when putting it together. The carrying handle feels sturdy so far, i transport the desktop around to friends houses to play vr games. Overall highly satisfied.

Case is awesome to build in. Has a ton of features that are insanely cool, but everything is, of course, quality of life stuff that the non-enthusiast doesnt need. The glass on the front sparkles from top to bottom, creating a rainbow of customizable colors and it looks absolutely breathtaking. Cooler Masters RGB software actually isnt bad, either. The case itself is made from mostly high quality steel/metal and there is very little plastic built into it; the only plastic I can really tell is the removable and easy-to-clean filters and the grip portion/sides of the front panel. The feet are also plastic, and I do have to say, that gripping them in certain spots does feel like the plastic is a bit unstable for the weight attached to this thing. The main feet are solid, its mostly the connecting plastic that gives way. Almost everything is toolless, which is awesome as well. Highly suggest this case for the RGB/case enthusiast that has some bank to break in. My one big critique(besides the price) is the riser cable thats included. Its much too short and actually pushes the bracket away from the inside at an angle, which is not ideal. Dont expect to use the riser cable that comes with it, you may have to purchase a longer one, which is probably what Ill be doing. Not really a fault of the case, since Cooler Master includes their basic riser and not a customized one for the case. I did reach out to Cooler Master and they said they dont sell longer riser cables anymore, which is weird.

As a HAF person for the last 15 years, follows the family, its big and heavy. Other then needing a handcart to move it OMG, this case is amazing. I was posting dozens of pics to discord as i built my machine. I will add going back to the big, i put a atx board in it, and could still park my pup inside, but beware cable length. its also what id call a case and a half wide, so while its great for adding your things.. its a big un. 10/10 super happy with this case

This case it the best. I love the looks of it. I love the large 120mm fans. I love the mesh front. This thing is a great way to take your build to the next level.
