> 3 dayI picked this up as my first upgrade to an Ender 3 v2. The Creality metal extruder drive was fairly easy to assemble reversing the steps that I used to remove the original plastic extruder and with the help of a similar youtube video as there are no instructions included in the package; a little surprising. The process of assemble still took less than ten minutes. After re leveling the bed it was time to test this all metal extruder out. Immediately, I was somewhat impressed with what it created using PLA, but for those of us that struggle with TPU filaments, this upgrade is a must! What a difference in printing ability when it comes to TPU. I think the all internal parts, with no need for the added coupler, helps in creating a direct route to the tubing with no gaps. Very impressed with the quality of the parts and the enhanced printing abilities that are now attainable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that still has the original plastic extruder. Eventually the plastic does degrade and will affect print quality, where the metal extruder will hold up for a much longer period of time while providing consistent great results.

> 3 dayI bought this because my Ender 3 V2 plastic extruder cracked under the bearing. (Dont they all?) After the kit arrived I examined it to make sure all the parts were there. They were. There has been a positive change in the design to use a normal bowden tube fitting just like the original plastic extruder. The product picture is no longer current. Unfortunately during assembly I found that the bushing that the tension arm rotates on was too short. This resulted in the arm not moving when the bolt was tightened. I fixed this in two ways. First I sanded off the anodizing from the bottom of the arm gaining a little more clearance. Not enough. Second I put the little bushing in a drill and used a small file to lengthen the small diameter tube towards its top. After a couple tries it was long enough to tighten down but not keep the tension arm from moving. Now the extruder works great even with harder filaments like wood and PETG. I suspect the part is correct when machined but after the red anodizing there is not enough clearance. Pretty easy fix but shouldnt have had to do it.

Greater than one weekHUGE improvement to my 3d prints. Why every 3d printer doesnt come with one of these is beyond me. If you have a plastic extruder, get this. Well worth the price and effort to change. Made a drastic difference in my prints. Highly recommend!

Greater than one weekThis is a decent upgrade to a stock extruder. THIS IS NOT A DUAL GEAR EXTRUDER. But I knew that when I got it. If youre still using the stock plastic extruder, it will break someday, so I would recommend having one of these for when that day happens.
