Everything is working fine. For my particular laptop, installing the memory was challenging, but that would be true no matter where you get the memory sticks.

Crucials website has a useful tool where you can enter your model number and itll show you everything they have thats compatible with your system. I recommend using it if you are not sure of the type you need.

Added this to the empty slot in my wifes pavilion x360 as well as replacing the crappy HDD with a sandisk solid state. The HDD with optane boost was just not cutting it. Now its a power house.

The Intel specs state that DDR4-2133 is the fastest memory supported by the i7-6700HQ processor. However, this DDR4-2400 memory is guaranteed by Crucial (see crucial.com) to work with the Dell XPS 15 (9550). I can confirm that it works without any issues. You will need Philips (PH1) and Torx (T5) screwdrivers to remove the bottom cover. Dell recommends disconnecting the battery before replacing the SODIMMs, which is simple. Good value as well. Much less expensive than OEM memory.

CT16G4SFD824A is a 16GB DDR4 Notebook module that operates at speeds up to 2400 MT/s and has a CL17 latency. It is an Buffered SODIMM. It conforms to the industry standard DDR4 SODIMM layout of 260 pins and is compatible with systems that take DDR4 2400MT/s SODIMM memory.
