Daniel Smith is always my go to watercolor. Permanence, brilliance, and great color choices.

Wonderful to add that hint of darkening to whole paintings or small areas to whatever degree I want.

Love the pigments of Daniel Smith.

Sodalite is like ground up blue jeans...very dark, very grainy, very blue. How does it get any better than that? I usually mix it with French Ultramarine, or sometimes add it to staining colors to give them some texture. This does not have the tinting power of a pthalo blue (thank goodness--that stuff is evil) but I like it a lot. If you like granulating watercolors, give this a try.

This is a great quality paint. The color is perfect for shadows.

This tube is absolute perfection. I use a lot of different water color brands, but Ive heard so many good things about Daniel Smith that I had to try them. Im not a watercolor snob, I just like my colors to feel buttery. A few of the W&N Cotmans have that feel, and so does this Daniel Smith. The color itself is beautiful and I use it a lot. I just love Paynes Gray, and I guess its no surprise that this so far is my favorite one.

This paint came as expected. Sometimes, paints can be difficult to use from mail-order. This was fine and I would repurchase it.
