> 24 hourI have recently started learning watercolor and sought a quality paint. My instructor recommended Daniel Smith so I acquired a starter set from Amazon (Alvaro Castagnet collection). After trying this set, I had to have this secondary set of 3 for the rich tones of green, purple and gold. The colors are so versatile and the pigments perform well on the paper. Furthermore, they mix well with other colors to create new combinations and even mix well with other brands. Try these if you are looking for a quality paint that out performs others!

> 24 hourUndersea green is beautiful if you want a special green not a phalo green, quin burnt orange is just that a beautiful gold orange sunset color not a perm orange. The purple is perfect though although very dark but water gives you a very nice range. I love all of these colors but if you are just starting and want simple secondaries this is not the right set. They have a great smaller set of 6 I would recommend though: Daniel Smith 285610005 Extra Fine Essentials Introductory Watercolor, 6 Tubes, 5ml

> 24 hourAnyone who knows about Daniel Smith knows how phenomenal this brand is. I was so excited to see this secondary set for around 20 bucks since regular price, each of these tubes is $10-15 a piece! The Quin. Burnt Orange is absolutely gorgeous. The Carbazole Violet is nice too. I was most impressed with the undersea green, and since it has multiple pigments in it, it leaves a wonderful effect. Some of the Ultramarine pigment in it separates from the Nickel Azo and leaves a beautiful granulation. These are expensive, artist quality paints, but this is a great deal for 3 tubes. If you are really interested in this, look up the colors on a search engine to see how the colors actually look, as the Undersea Green is less uniform than the picture shows. This is a beautiful set and I would definitely recommend!

> 24 hourI wanted to get some basic mixing paints in daniel smiths line and try to save some dollars. I really like the trio as is, and am less into the straight primary set. these colors reflect more of the work I like to do. Undersea green is a go to, but I usually use violet the most. I live in a rural area with the most expensive art store on the planet so I rely on amazon, blick, ebay, and anywhere with fair pricing (not the whole suggested retail price plus half their rent) This was the best option for the tubes and price, to just get the primary and secondary sets first. The seller I picked had the best price for the set, and I bought the other set on ebay, which was drop shipped from amazon anyways but that seller didnt have this set.
