> 3 dayI previously used Winsor & Newton quinacridone magenta that I liked but it was expensive for the size of the tube. So when I needed to reorder this pigment, I chose the Daniel Smith brand. I’m very happy with this paint. It’s bright, translucent paint that rewets beautifully and stays put when glazing over it. This paint mixes especially nice with other colors making colors from dark greys to vivid oranges. It is beautiful when painted with several glazes! With Daniel Smith, I’ve come to know the brand for interesting, vivid, and highly pigmented paint. I have several other colors from this company, and I’m equally pleased with the other paints.

> 3 dayThe Quinacridone colors are pure and bright. What a delight to use. I think it is more reflective than other brands.

> 3 dayI purchased this because I liked the color and had trouble getting just what I wanted when I tried to mix my own. Be aware that this is a stainer -- and that is either good or bad depending on what youre doing. After using it a while, I find that I like it for mixing with other colors to add vibrancy. The paint that was sent to me appeared to be fresh, with good packaging and was not flattened during shipping.

06-06-2025I love Daniel Smith watercolor paint. But, I ordered Quinacridone Burnt Scarlet and received Burnt Umber instead. My order arrived on time and in good shape. Just the wrong item.

> 3 dayIt dries lighter than other watercolors, but is a very nice chroma. I am slowly replacing all of my watercolors with Daniel Smith. It looks like it is the same cost if you dont see that youre getting 15 ml. and not 5 ml. as with other brands.
