Greater than one weekIf you have used these before, you already know how effective flap disc sanding is. It cuts through metal, or wood, or anything else in a surprisingly quick, yet controllable manner. If you need to remove a lot of material from a flat surface this is a good way to do it, of course you should also have other sanders to prep a finished edge. This is more to burn through a lot of wood or metal and it is very coarse, so you need to be cognizant of the amount of pressure you are using. Always taper the pressure off for awhile before you move to the next grit/sander otherwise you will have some deep gouges. If you havent used one, and you have an angle grinder, this is a good way to expand your tool-kit cost effectively. You can do alot with an angle grinder and even more if you have the right discs.

> 3 dayBought this flap disc sanding wheel to specifically work with the Makita dust shield that I am using on a cheap Kawasaki 4 1/2 variable speed grinder that I got on Amazon. The dust shield attaches to my vacuum and really helps keep the dust down when Im grinding on fiberglass.

Greater than one weekI used this with a 4.5 Inch DeWalt Grinder. It installed easily and I didnt find that it slipped at all. I like the flaps because it allowed me to have a more smooth finish on the aluminum I was working with compared to a traditional grinding wheel. It doesnt bounce when you press it against the surface.

> 3 dayGreat flap disc. I was able to smooth out the surfaces. Just have to make sure you constantly move or else you will feel the surface uneven. Does the job perfectly.

Greater than one weekThe flap disks wear out fast, and I mean FAST.

> 3 dayThis was my first flap disc. Im surprised at how much manufacturing and tech has to go into making one of these gizmos. Theyre pretty well connected with high quality tech and materials in order to function properly. Dewalt (Black & Deckers commercial grade products) did OK on this one. FYI: Black & Decker = residential grade Dewalt = commercial grade ... SAME COMPANY!

Greater than one weekThese are then light weight discs with a fiber core. The paper abrasive flaps don’t seem to last as long. The price was good and the seller great.
