Dimensions Gold Collection Counted Cross Stitch Kit, Treasured Time Christmas Cross Stitch, 16 Count Dove Grey Aida, 16 x 12

Im working on this particular design as I write. However, once again and twice before, some of the most used color threads in the Gold Collection counted cross stitch designs runs out before the area is covered for that color thread. Ive had to go to my DMC threads or Ive also called to get more of the color to finish the piece. This is a challenging, colorful and time-consuming piece -fun to do and watch developing.

I’ve done Dimensions kits for about 20 years and they’ve been my favorite. The patterns are beautiful and the instructions easy to follow. Due to an arm injury I hadn’t done them in several years but I’m able to do them now and I bought 3 of the kits including this one. The only change I noticed is that on 2 of the kits (I haven’t started the 3rd one yet) is that now I seem to run out of several colors of threads about 3/4 of the way through. This had happened only twice before in 20+ years I had done them. Before I would just contact them and they would send the thread free of charge. This time I contacted them, didn’t received any response and after a week I sent a second email and received a terse email in reply saying here’s a conversion chart to DMC thread colors and basically you’re out of luck buy them yourselves and hope the colors are close enough. I was very disappointed in Dimensions.

Love this picture, so many colors and details, Ive been working on it for the last two years (I have little time to give it) and I am enjoying how it looks as I am getting closer to completion. My husband wants it framed and hung next to his table so he can enjoy it.

I do a lot of Dimensions kits. I ordered this one because I wanted a Christmas themed one. It sat around for months before I finally opened it. I have to say, I have enjoyed this kit more than any other Dimensions I have done. I think its because there is so much variety of color, stitches and things to do. I do not get bored with this one. I am usually not a afan of Half Cross Stitch but I love how it works in this piece! The whole thing is so beautiful. I am pleasantly surprised and VERY happy I ordered it!

Ive been working on this off and on for about 2 months, and got a little bit of trees and the cabin mostly. Been a good project for myself. Had to come to the reviews and see what everyone else thought and maybe see what ideas I could use to help me out. I also wanted to give a tip about the thread. I posted a pic so yall could see what I was talking about. I got me a case and put all my thread on bobbins and it has helped me out so much. Even worked on the filament. It was a little project in itself before I got to start but was well worth the effort. Cant wait to get to see it complete!
