> 3 dayCan’t wait to give this to my son for his birthday! Anything he picks up that looks like a hook; be it a stick or even a straw, he calls it Maui’s hook. So to give him this will be a real treat. It feels like it’s put together well and the lights and sounds are great. The only reason for only 4 stars is because he has not gotten his hands on it yet. This will be the true test of durability when a 2 year old gets a hold of it. I will update at the end of the month after his bday. **Update 9/14 My son loves this! It is durable and super bright when it lights up. He loves the noises that it makes and enjoys holding it above his head and yelling yaaahooowwweee!!!

> 3 dayMy son loves playing with this. The only thing you dont see on the photos is that there is kind of a greenish color that comes through the hook where the lights are. It doesnt affect anything, its just a bit green.

Greater than one weekMy 3 1/2 year old nephew is obsessed with Maui and wanted this hook. I should have considered the size. The manufacturer says for 3 or 3 1/2 year old. NO NO NO!!! My nephew is very advanced, and VERY tall for his age, but this hook is HUGE and difficult for him to handle, responsibly, in my opinion. When you add the excitement factor and the fact the the hook = “power” for Maui, it’s difficult for a child to control it. It’s a great gift, but probably for a 7 or above. Im mad at myself for not considering the size and disappointed the maker thinks it’s good for any child under 7. Trust me, it is NOT!!!!
