We purchased this as an up-sale item when we purchased our new shower head. Amazon reminded us Dont forget the sealant tape, so we clicked on the product and added it the sale without thinking or even checking for other similar products or looking at the reviews. This is totally out of character for both my wife and I, as both of are avid Amazon shoppers, and always read the reviews first. I actually did not read the reviews until after my wife finished using installing. Fortunately, for us, it amazingly simple to use. Did not take any time or effort at all to unwrap from spool and line the pole. It was really perfect, but we were thinking more of the shower head than we were of the tape. Did not have tearing or ripping, and the other common complaints of other users, so in afterthought, I guess we received a high quality unit. So for effortless use, we were quite happy.

The tape is standard. I used it to screw on a new shower head/filter and it worked just fine. It does take some getting used to to stretch it to adhere but not to the point that its too fragile and breaks.

Works well. The first time I only wrapped it around the threads 3 times and there was a single drop leaking from it every 5-7 seconds. The next time I wrapped it 6 times around and got a perfect seal with not a single drop leaking. The tape can be ripped with hands. Be sure to push the tape down around the threads with your thumb before attempting to connect the shower head. Also, clean the threads on the pipe of any previous residue before applying tape for the best results. Only gripe is that I bought this because it was the recommended one. Not knowing anything about sealant tape at the time, I ordered it. When I received the item I did some reading saying 1/2 inch tape is the best size. After using it I discovered this to be true. Half inch tape would have been more than enough. The 3/4 inch tape works the same, but leaves a lot of unused white tape visible on the pipe.

TLDR: Its so thin its basically see through, the width is smaller than advertised, and its a fifth the weight it should be. The description says its 3.5 mils/0.09 mm thick by 3/4 wide by 520 long. Using the density of PTFE (2.2 g/cm^3) the tape alone should weigh about 50 grams, but on my scale the tape AND spool weigh only 11.05 grams, thats 1/5 the weight it should be. Im not gonna bother measuring the 43 or so foot length advertised but the width is not 3/4 inch either, my caliper shows its around 0.70 which seemed odd until I switched to millimeters and its exactly 18.0 mm wide. Assuming the length isnt too far off, this would mean the thickness is not 3.5 mils but closer to 0.8 mils or 0.0008 inches (0.02 mm) but I dont have a micrometer precise enough to measure this. Sure its a cheap roll of Teflon sealant tape made in China, but this is just ridiculous.

This pipe tape is no different from the one you can buy at the local hardware store, at a cheaper price.

Needed to replace a shower head and tub spout in my bathroom so I picked this up. It worked great and there were no leaks in wither after applying this tape. I suggest using a generous amount to make sure you have no leaks. The directions for my fixtures said 4-6 wraps but it was leaking. I added a few more wraps and the leaks stopped.
