Bought for my first cabin camping trip (boil rain barrel pump water to wash dishes in the sink, solar shower bags). Its thinner than liquid hand soap and dribbles a lot as it dispense from the bottle, so consider that in packing and pouring it. Since all the drain water from our kitchen sink was going into a leach field and the water from the outdoor shower at the back of the house into the lawn, it was nice to know that its eco-friendly and bio-degradable. Its impressively effective, cutting grease and cleansing without feeling caustic. It lathered adequately. Heed the warnings that the peppermint essential oil might make more sensitive areas sting just slightly when showering. Since it strips the oils from hair when used as shampoo, consider some form of moisturizing to offset the squeaky clean feel. We used generously and finished a quarter of the bottle for daily dishes (for seven guests over almost a week). Now Im considering trying other scents for cleaning, dishes, and showering at home.

I have a pretty bothersome case of seborrheic dermatitis, and I read on a pretty popular forum that this stuff really helps. Ive tried Jason shampoo for dandruff, which states that it helps seborrheic dermatitis, but it didnt work for me. I also tried several other shampoos, like tgel and selsun blue, and they didnt work for me either. the only one that did anything besides this was nizoral but i wanted something less harmful. I wash my hair every other day or every 2 days, and after trying this stuff the itchiness, red patches and flaking was gone. Ive been using it for a couple of months now and I dont have issues anymore. The fact that it can also be used as a body was is even better, less cluttering. Edit: 11.19.12 I switched to Nizoral just to see the different effects. I have to say that it works better in controlling it. With Bronners after 2 days my seborrheic Dermatitis starts to kick in with itching etc. With nizeral sometimes Id go 3 or even 4 days and Im okay. This might be just me, but Ive also noticed less hair loss. Still like Bronners though since its the next best thing and its more natural than anything else, plus i use it for numerous other things.

This was recommended by the Sentinel Mouthguard company (excellent company) to clean my clear night mouthguard I wear for bruxism. I followed the directions listed on the Dr. Bronner site to clean a mouthguard. I thoroughly washed (using a Ultra soft toothbrush from Quantum Labs from my dentist) and rinsed my mouthguard every morning, left it to air dry, and then stored in its case during the day. Within 2 months I noticed they were starting to discolor from their extremely clear color when new to a slight yellow color. I went online to the Sentinel Mouthguard blog and found directions to “occasionally” use a 1:10 bleach to water solution to soak the mouthguard for 30 mins. I did this and they came out sparkling clear as when they were brand new. This confirmed that the Dr. Bronner soap is what discolored them. I definitely do NOT recommend using Dr. Bronner Castille Soap for cleaning a clear mouthguard. Their tout of 18 uses seems inflated and makes one wonder when used in the other 17 ways that it does the same issue, just not as noticeable. While doing my research as to the discoloration issue I found Dr. Bronner is not a Dr. This further murks the water and claims. Buyer be aware.

I’m hooked on this. I went on a multi night canoe trip down the Suwannee River here in Florida. I found a small bottle at a camp site and used it to bathe. It smelled great, made my body tingle. Foamed up nice. A little went a long way. It has multiple uses and can really reduced the amount of stuff you carry on hiking, backpacking, camping and even fishing trips. I instantly ordered a big bottle for all my activities. I use it when I fish to get the slime and fish smell off. You can use it in your hair, body, do dishes and laundry with it. So many uses. So versatile and it’s great smelling and tingles. I’m not hippy and I love the outdoors, but it’s a great product and has some great history. A story behind this soap also. A family, the Holocaust, a survivor and altered view of the world. Worth a youtube. Really happy with this versatile soap. Can’t say enough about it. Give it a shot!

Marvelous stuff. A little on the pricey side but well worth it. When it arrived I remembered it from many years ago we used it when we went on our long distance rough camping trips across the country. We had gone three days once unable to take a bath because there was nowhere to take one. This was in April somewhere in Colorado and we came to a gorgeous stream. I told my husband to stop, I was going to take a bath....I had to take a bath. I grabbed a wash cloth, a towel, my bottle of Dr. Bronners liquid soap (which was safe to use in streams) and jumped into the stream at which point I thought my heart would stop. It was like jumping into ice water. After a few heart-stopping minutes, I realized my dog, Jammer, had jumped in with me so I figured if she was in too, Id stay. I washed her first and then me (I kept my clothes on, just washed thru them). When I got out of the stream, I was drying off, every pore in my body just vibrating, I watched Jammer shake, wondering if her pores were also vibrating. My husband never would go into the water; said hed wait until we found a hotel (two days later). But Jammer and I felt so clean and refreshed from Dr. Bronners, and I know from the peppermint aroma, we had to smell good to. All that came back to me in a flash when I opened the lid. At that time my group used this soap for everything and Im glad Ive found it again.

I love the product but I did not read that it contained only 4 ounces. I normally buy a 16 ounce for the same price. I ripped myself off.

I love the product but did not like how it was delivered the cap came broken because there was no bubble wrap to protect it.

Have used Dr Bronners since 1970s!! You can dilute it with water to extend the life still with good results. Peppermint is my favorite. You can wash the dog, wash yourself and do the dishes too when youre camping. It is biodegradable and will not pollute streams, etc.

I ordered it for cleaning my mu brushes but read the reviews and decided to try it on my skin. It works! Literally felt like exfoliator. I have sensitive skin so Im skeptical about anything that can potentially irritate it. But it was awesome. I only used it on one area- lower jaw line and neck because Ive been having breakouts there...maybe from the masks, possibly makeup or more than likely hcg injections but I felt super clean. Probably wont use daily some oil on the skin is good. Will definitely add to my regimen with other products.
