The film exceeded my expectations. It was very respectful to the original without being the least bit derivative. Well I guess it had to be somewhat derivative, it is based on The Dr. Seuss Classic. But, anywho, (pun intended) the idea of making the Grinch a mechanical genius flowed brilliantly from the original. I’m a frustrated engineer. And the expansion into Cindy Lou’s backstory was quite moving. I was very appreciative of the decision to add some Color to the denizens of Whoville.
