Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium 11 [Old Version]

> 3 dayThis is one of the best and cheapest upgrades I have ever done in more than 15 years of Dragon and 5 upgrades of this program. I have used Dragon since Version 1.0, and most recently Dragon Pro Medical V10. I work with it daily at work. My work requires me to dictate into a Chrome based online program. Newer Chrome versions made Dragon 10 Medical repeatedly crash. Looking into upgrades, I found the newest version would force me to buy the expensive medical version to dictate into Practice Fusion, and possibly into other applications, while Version 11 would basically put my dictation where ever I put the cursor, and would utilize the power of my Intel i3 desktop. For such a low price, I decided to gamble and just buy V11 in the Premium. Upgrade forced a new install, which was no big deal, but I was unable to import my custom dictionary and the 50 or so voice macros I have set up over the years and I had to import the list and retrain those words, and redo macros from scratch. Overall, this tiny upgrade was a great improvement and I have had no instability and noticeable improvement in performance. I did the install on one of the three computers I use for dictation as a trial and after a month of daily use, have installed this version on the other machines (Windows 7 and Windows 8) with similarly good experience.

> 3 dayThis is the best money I have ever spent for a program. I had read all the reviews and researched prices and this was such a deal I could not pass it up. I review and type medical records, so this was a huge time saver for me. Now instead of me typing, the dragon does all the work. You do have to train your dragon, but that has been half the fun of this program. To give an example, I was using a medical word parenthesis (numbness) and the dragon translated it to a pair of thieves in Paris!! Actually cracked me up trying to figure out what I said!! But then you just click on the word (or words in this case) and spell the word you wanted, and then train the dragon by saying that word. The next time, no matter how badly I said the word, the dragon got it right. You find yourself learning to enunciate words better. Another example was, syncope and the dragon typed, sticky feet. It is well worth letting the dragon search your files of word documents and emails to find words which it saves. Each time you add new words, he remembers it! I find myself asking, what took me so long to buy a program like this. Seriously, I do not know of other programs like this but when I searched voice activated programs on Google this one jumped off the page. I am thrilled with the results. Since purchasing it, I found a lot of my friends and family had either used it in college, or are using it today. Go for it, you will be glad you did. Watch for the sale though, because this program was $99.99 one night and $199.99 another. I got it for the $99.99 and it included the microphone and headset.

> 3 dayI am a traveling consultant. Since I began using Dragon Naturally Speaking, I have been able to increase my written output of both client required updates and reports as well as all the internal stuff that goes with a life on the road - without adding any time to my week. Try it, youll like it! Dont be shy or impatient - take the time to work with the initial user profile setup routine. Once the Dragon learns your patterns, it is almost foolproof.

> 3 daygreat product, no complaints works well for what i am after. dictation works much better than transcriptions (more accurate), so be prepared to do more proof reading and rewriting when transcribing audio, but it does the job. one tip is to specify shipping address that is open after you get off work. i work mon to fri 8 to 5. they ship from 8 to 7 pm.

> 3 dayIm not sure Im any more impressed with this version than I was with earlier versions. Yes the speech recognition is better than version 2-10, but its still not the greatest thing since sliced bread. Great for creating the initial draft but I found that editing commands were frequently ignored or interpreted as additional text. Menu commands dont work at all with Open Office. Its useful, but not the works great, cant live without it product of the advertisements.

> 3 dayDragon Naturally Speaking Premium 11 by Nuance / B003VNCROU I bought this software with one goal in mind - my intent was to couple the software with a solid voice recorder in order to transcribe spoken notes, reviews, and journal entries. My intent was to talk on the road my reviews and journal entries, load the sound files onto my computer at the end of the day, feed them into Dragon, and with a minimum of editing turn out the text so that I could then paste the result into an Amazon window and bang off for the evening. As you will see, this didnt work so well. Firstly, I did my research. The Nuance website has plenty of graphs on the best voice recorders for their software. I eventually went with the

> 3 dayIve used every version of Naturally Speaking since V2 (c 1997). This version is somewhat more accurate, but has several bugs--disappointing from Nuance. 1. a random character gets added beyond the dictation. If I delete it, another character pops up. 2. selecting a group of words and dictating over them (if I do not want to use the correct function) often leaves letters of the old phrase or does not space properly. 3. occasionally the correction function appears to get stuck and generates an internal error. I have to close down the program and restart. 4. save user profile often closes the program 5. the playback function on the correction window is frequently misaligned with the text, unlike in prior versions where this was rare. 6. I have not been able to complete additional training--the system crashes prior to saving the new speech files. Overall, V11 is promising, but I would wait until a service pack or revised version is available

Greater than one weekI had very high hopes for this product at the time I purchased it. The first few weeks of use went pretty well and I was elated with the performance. As time went by, more and more problems arose. Dragons software apparently does not play well with other applications (word processors, spreadsheets, contact managers, etc.) being active at the same time. The Dragon software seems to get in fights, of sort, with these other applications and then refusing to work at all until it is rebooted. This product is installed on a 16 GB memory, 4-processor, Windows 7, 64 bit, machine. I sure wish the Dragon folks could get this thing working -- Id love to make it a part of my business day!

> 3 dayThe Dragon is actually for my husband. Hes still working on the voice recognition or communicatio aspect. Sometimes it understands what he says and sometimes not, which might be because he is just learning how it works. So, I think he needs a little more time to understand how it works before he can make a fair judgment of this product.

> 3 dayI have been using this software for two years and it works great better than everything before. The first time I used it I could not get it trained properly and I figure it out that the headset that come with it was not a good quality not the quality you need. So I tried training it with a $12 Plantronics headset that i purchased from Amazon and it started working perfectly for me. It can be very frustrating especially when you know youre speaking right and clearly. The software is a very good value for the price compared to the Professional version Before 11 you would have to purchase Dragon professional for over $500 to get these results. I would recommend this to anyone just be sure and purchase a better headset Nuance should be ashamed of themselves for selling quality software with a cheap headset Bad Business Decision Don West I have been using Dragon products since 1991 with good results
