> 3 daySo I found the best way to use this is in layers. I have a leopard gecko tank. I bought coconut fiber and laid that down first, then moss and bark. Definitely keeps the humidity in for a nice shead. For the size this is a little pricey. But it looks really nice and I think my girls like the moss more than just coconut fiber alone.

> 3 dayMy bearded dragon and ball Python love digging around in this stuff. You really don’t need to wet it because they walk/slither around in their water and get it wet all on their own so it creates the extra humidity they like. I think it will really help with the shedding process too.

> 3 dayThis comes as a two bags within a single package. One bag are the bark chips, the other is the compressed moss. The 24 quarts is mainly from expanding the compressed moss. The bark chips are fairly big in size, about 1.5, and maybe a quart in total. I thought this might be a more even mix between moss and bark, and that it would come premixed, with smaller bark chips.

Greater than one weekThe word from my niece who has a reptile rescue nonprofit is that her creatures like this mix of bark and moss. Not a terribly big bag, and she goes through a lot of substrate, but still, it was good that she could try this out to see if shed want to buy bigger quantities.

Greater than one weekThis is a good quality substrate for reptiles and terrariums. I like the mix of bark and moss. I think I expected a slightly larger package based on the description. I plan on mixing it with some Eco Earth anyway so its not a big deal. I feel that description should give package dimensions as well. Update. After using some of this package I found there is quite a bit more moss packed in than I thought. The moss is of good quality is there is quite a bit of it. Package size is a bit deceptive. More moss than it looks like. Update review to 4 1/2 stars.

> 3 dayLooking at the photos, which is always hard to judge size, I thought there would be more included in the bag. The moss is compressed which was amazing. The bark and moss came in separately sealed bags, but the pine bark was very thin and broke open as I was removing it. At this point, I was very glad the bag wasnt as big as I was expecting because I was cleaning bark off my carpet. The moss is nice, but it doesnt hold the moisture like I was hoping for. It could be the type of moss and I am no moss expert, but I was hoping I could soak it and have it hold moisture. The bark chunks are fairly large and I know they are supposed to be Pine, but they seem to splinter and cause slivers more than I expected Pine to do. I ended up not using the bark in my Ball Pythons cage, but did spread some of the moss around for looks and to add to the substrate a little. I would NOT call this an adequate substrate for any reptile, but I would classify it as an add in product to a good substrate.

Greater than one weekNice quality substrate for reptiles (Im using it for a frog habitat). The bark is in a separate bag that is hand tied with twine. It is clean and appears to be sterile. Included a nice handwritten card thanking for supporting a small family owned business.
