I have a 3 Ton Carrier unit that is 11 years old now. First thing I did was check the max amperage before any modifications. Mine came in at 68 amps. I then replaced the original capacitor just because and checked again. The max amperage came down to 60 amp. After installing the soft start unit, starting it 5 times per instructions (have to wait a few minutes between each start) and checking, I was shocked! Max amperage was 19 amps!!! I then switched over to my 6000 watt LP generator. It starts the AC with only the slightest change in rpm’s. Wow! Was never able to do this before. I have an oil furnace that runs off the generator but never could use the heat pump or AC. Now I can do it all! The cost of the EasyStart plus generator comes out to about what one would pay for just a larger generator to run the unit as it was. So instead of paying more money for a larger more expensive generator that consumes much more fuel, I can use a smaller generator having less fuel consumption. More importantly, I will have less wear and tear on the compressor. Wish I had this on my unit when it was new. Highly recommended!

My 1990 model Rheem air conditioner compressor consistently took 91 amps to start. After installing the micro air easy start and evaluating its performance for over 500 cycles now, it averages 27 amps to start and although it claims not to lower running amps, those to have dropped from 17.5 to 15.7 on average. The significance is that now during a power outage I can start and run my central AC on either my gas powered 7000 watt generator or my solar powered 6000 watt off grid inverter. I couldn’t be happier with this product. Sunshine = Middle fingers up to the the power monopoly’s !!!

We live near the gulf coast, but we were also without power for 3 days last winter. I bought a 12,000 watt peak generator and was hoping it would power my 4 ton downstairs AC and fridge and freezer. Upon generator hook-up the blower fan started okay- but the compressor fan started turning- and then quit. I researched and found this MicroAir unit and had it installed. Now, I run my entire house with comfortably AC throughout. When the AC compressor starts there is hardly a hiccup in the generator.

We have a 3 ton central AC unit and I decided to switch it to our offgrid system running on a 6K split phase growatt inverter. Everytime when the AC kicked on, the inverter was overloaded and shutoff. After searching around, I decided to buy this unit to test it it out and I am more than happy with the result. Smooth starts of inverter after learning and now the start peak is around 23A which is great. Highly recommended for large AC and offgrid system.

Installed this on my whole house Rheem 4 ton unit. Before install the inrush amps measured 113. After 5 learn runs the inrush was down to 29 amps. Anybody who can read the circuit diagram of their ac should be able to install this. The Bluetooth app makes doing the learn runs easy.

Does exactly what they claim. Line Rush Amps went from 72 down to 23.8

Great product, the run capacitor failed on my compressor, easystart refused to keep trying to start, saving my compressor motor from over heating. Replaced capacitor, all is good. Had to call factory to find out how to clear the error code on my easystart.

Took awhile to actually get. Installed easily and works as intended.

During Hurricane Ida, my house was without power for approximately 2 weeks, after which I realized it would have been far more comfortable if I could have run the central A/C using my generator. My two-stage Lennox heat-pump pulls between 2000-3800 watts while running (8-15A), but the startup wattage is about 12000 watts (~48A), which is far more than my

EasyStart is the emergency power solution that allows small to medium-sized generators to run a home or business" cooling units optimally. The advanced soft start for air conditioners employs a 4-part start ramp sequence that is self-optimizing, resulting in the lowest possible startup current. It can help generators power up air conditioners at 65%-75% less power and prevent lights from blinking and other appliances from stalling at startup. Our soft starter also protects an air conditioner"s compressor. The MicroAir EasyStart can support 19,000- 48,000 BTU (2-3.5 ton) compressor or 72,000 BTU (6 ton) compressor, depending on the model. This device allows an air conditioner or refrigeration compressor to operate on a generator, inverter, or unlimited utility power when it would otherwise not have functioned. It can also work with air compressors and fluid pump motors. EasyStart also features a unique water-resistant and UV-protected enclosure.
