> 3 dayToo many times after a hurricane has rolled through I have been multiple days to 2 weeks running on portable generators and portable AC units, not any more! Our old 2.5Ton central unit starts up on a 9500W generator now. At a minimum, this device staggers the compressor startup until after the condenser fan gets up to speed. After running for a few months I sent a report through the app interface to tech support and they suggested a setting modification based upon the data they received - within hours of me sending it. Outstanding!

> 3 dayInstalled on my homes 3.5 Ton 16 seer Trane condensing unit ahead of summer. For the last 2 years I have been trying to identify an electrical issue which occurs when my ac cycles during my home generators weekly test. The air conditioner would run rough and very noisy, sometimes trip itself out on thermal overload. I couldn’t figure It out until I noticed the LRA was 10 amps higher than my generator is rated to produce. A YouTube video from Engineer775 I happened to catch by luck pointed me in the right direction. My results are as follows. I could not believe the RLA in the sticker is 110. I measured 109-112 through my amp clamp. Two years of a mystery why my condenser would make horrible starting noises when running on my home 20kw generator. Preliminary testing shows 24.5 max inrush according to my fluke meter (same meter from initial inrush testing) now that the soft start was installed. My running issues are gone. My lights don’t dim and my condenser runs smooth. I’m impressed to say the least. I have yet to venture into the app and the Bluetooth features but will soon.

> 3 daySoft Starter brought down the on rush amps on my condenser from 109 amps to 27 amps. Run amps from 20 amps to 9amps. Made in USA support in Utah. Great product.

> 3 dayreduced AC LRA from 70A to 26A can now start central AC using 8750 watt surge generator, love the Bluetooth connection, suggest you really read install directions and watch the install videos not for your novice DIY person, very pleased with results. Received unit less than 5 days after ordered

> 3 dayMy 1990 model Rheem air conditioner compressor consistently took 91 amps to start. After installing the micro air easy start and evaluating its performance for over 500 cycles now, it averages 27 amps to start and although it claims not to lower running amps, those to have dropped from 17.5 to 15.7 on average. The significance is that now during a power outage I can start and run my central AC on either my gas powered 7000 watt generator or my solar powered 6000 watt off grid inverter. I couldn’t be happier with this product. Sunshine = Middle fingers up to the the power monopoly’s !!!

> 3 dayThis unit should exist on all AC condenser packages. The fan kicks on first, then the compressor comes on gently. I am amazed. I installed this primarily to help with my whole home generator handling the AC starting. The second reason is to help with light flicker in my shop. I guess the third plus is it will lengthen the life of the compressor. To note, the starting amp draw on my compressor went from 70amps down to 29 amps. Huge difference that my generator can handle easily now. The install went pretty easy. You will need two blue female spade connectors, and one yellow splice crimp, and one yellow spade connector. Those were for my condenser, so yours might be slightly different. The online directions are fairly easy to follow but could be laid out better. In all, I am very happy with the purchase and consider it money well spent.

> 3 dayThis should be standard for every AC compressor. This is a no-brainer if you need to run your AC using a generator. The manufacturer deserves an award for the simplicity of installation and use, and design functionality. Our new (4 months old) 2.5 ton AC previously had a startup amperage of over 75 amps. Because the peak amperage exceeded the LRA 72A rating, our AC tech recommended a hard-start kit installed for $305. Hard-start kits are available on Amazon for under $25! This piqued my interest in this subject, so I researched it. For a few dollars more than the AC tech-installed hard start kit, I found this soft start kit. The hard-start kit helps to lower the starting amperage with a fixed circuit design. This soft-start kit uses a microprocessor to learn and apply the optimum four stage starting curve. If the hard-start kit is good, the soft start is at least four times better. I also appreciate the ability to connect to it via blue tooth to know exactly the peak and running amperages every time. The peak that was over 72A is now 19.5 to 22A, and runs at 6.7 to 7.2A. My 6000W generator struggled to start the AC, and sometimes failed. With this soft start kit, the generator now handles the AC starting and running with ease. Not only will it enhance the life of the equipment, but it starts more quietly, and saved me from having to buy another generator. Highly, highly recommended!

> 3 dayWe live near the gulf coast, but we were also without power for 3 days last winter. I bought a 12,000 watt peak generator and was hoping it would power my 4 ton downstairs AC and fridge and freezer. Upon generator hook-up the blower fan started okay- but the compressor fan started turning- and then quit. I researched and found this MicroAir unit and had it installed. Now, I run my entire house with comfortably AC throughout. When the AC compressor starts there is hardly a hiccup in the generator.
