13-04-2025We live near the gulf coast, but we were also without power for 3 days last winter. I bought a 12,000 watt peak generator and was hoping it would power my 4 ton downstairs AC and fridge and freezer. Upon generator hook-up the blower fan started okay- but the compressor fan started turning- and then quit. I researched and found this MicroAir unit and had it installed. Now, I run my entire house with comfortably AC throughout. When the AC compressor starts there is hardly a hiccup in the generator.

> 3 dayI am at 6,700 starts on my Heatpump since installing . I love this product . I can now use my Generator to run the heatpump . Avg startup current is about 37amps , down from 67 Amps .Then after start it runs around 12-13 amps . Besides the ability to use a Generator to start . Now my heatpump starts quietly , Its far easier on the unit itself with softstarts , and im saving a bunch on electricity as well so now the easy start has become Free. I installed myself as i am an inside Wireman by trade .

> 3 dayThis unit should exist on all AC condenser packages. The fan kicks on first, then the compressor comes on gently. I am amazed. I installed this primarily to help with my whole home generator handling the AC starting. The second reason is to help with light flicker in my shop. I guess the third plus is it will lengthen the life of the compressor. To note, the starting amp draw on my compressor went from 70amps down to 29 amps. Huge difference that my generator can handle easily now. The install went pretty easy. You will need two blue female spade connectors, and one yellow splice crimp, and one yellow spade connector. Those were for my condenser, so yours might be slightly different. The online directions are fairly easy to follow but could be laid out better. In all, I am very happy with the purchase and consider it money well spent.

Greater than one weekI have a 3 ton ac and this specific device works on up to 4 ton. I live in florida and was experiencing hard starts when running on a 13k whole house generator. Due to these hard starts I encountered early failures on both my condenser and blower fans. They failed months after using my generator. This Im told was due to spinup during starting with low power due to the power strain. If you plan on running your home ac with a generator this device is a necessary. Install easystart first then check your max startup amp draw with the bluetooth app and then buy an appropriate size generator. This device will let u buy a much smaller generator which will use less gas which is a game changer. Easy install only 4 wires. I recommend buying the install kit My startup amp draw went from 79 amps to 27.2 amps with easystart. Wow!!!! I highly recommend this device My ac startup is now whisper quiet

> 3 dayHad it installed by HVAC Tech, was done in less then 40 minutes. 3 Ton A/C Heat Pump is down to 24 Amps with a name plate of 71 LRA. Now my 7.2kw portable generator can start it up and I am pumped to have that capability.

> 3 dayThis device reduced my inrush current that allows me run a 4 ton central unit, a 3 ton central unit and a 2hp well pump on a 15kw Generac generator. The Hutch Mountain customer service was outstanding.

Greater than one weekNothing bad about tech support just never had to contact them. I found the online wiring diagrams easier for me to follow then the supper detailed instructions. I only have about 20 starts so time will tell had good lasting the unit will be. That said, although a little costly I would highly recommend this, my starting amps went from 76 down between 25 and 29 amps for my 4 ton AC, so fell pretty confidant my 8000 Watt generator will work but havent tested yet. I like the Bluetooth and works very well but I would like to see about a $40 drop on the cost. It is built very will but wish it was small enough to mount inside the AC unit just to keep it out of the sun and heat.
