Honestly, I am a super picky mom when it comes to toys for my 10 month old. I always read negative reviews before I decide on a purchase and there have been a few for this one. However, over the last 3 months, this toy has held up so well after my baby has dropped it several times. Of course like any other toy, babies can get bored of it. That’s when us moms and pops have to step in and re-engage them with it. Overall, easy to clean. Passed the fall test. It’s make out of wood and CAN last a long time with proper care. Hope this helped. Adios

My daughter loves this piece of work. She gets so excited when she gets the ball through and it really helps her hand eye coordination and dexterity. Love the design and that it’s made out of wood.

Bought this for our daughter who is currently 7.5 months old. Really cant be used well until they are mobile. She sits up and tries to play with it but its a little to big for her to get close enough. Will bring it out again once she can crawl. Looks well built and sturdy.

We are trying to follow montessori principles at home with our daughter, so we first purchased this box to help teach her object permanence. While simple, this has been her absolute favorite toy since she was 6 months old. At first she loved watching us model it, then loved trying to do it herself, and now loves seeing if larger and smaller objects will fit in. This box keeps her entertained for very long periods of time and also helps give her exercise as she loves crawling after the balls when they dont quite make it in the hole. She has also been very curious about how the box works and looks at the box from all angles to explore. Also, the quality if very good on this. We also purchased the next level, which is the cylinder shape with a door and hole and she has not taken to that one (yet). One thing is that the ball that comes with it is very poor quality and its slippery plastic features made the ball pop right our of her hand each time, so instead we use a ball that came with the Hape Geometric Rattle set, which has a little rubber grip to it and it is perfect for it!

Great quality but the ball can be a choking hazard. My son can fit the entire ball in his mouth. Ive seen this toy with a slightly bigger ball. I wouldnt recommend and I cant leave my sons side when playing

  • Object permanence is the understanding that objects continue to exist even when they cannot be perceived (seen, heard, touched, smelled or sensed in any way).

  • The concept of object permanence plays a significant role in the theory of cognitive development created by psychologist Jean Piaget. In the sensorimotor stage of development, a period that lasts from birth to about age two, Piaget suggested that children understand the world through their motor abilities such as touch, vision, taste, and movement.

  • Object Permanence box with tray is the first level (Easiest Level ) for children from 8 months to one and a half approximately.

  • Child would have to take the ball and put it through the hole. For little baby it is a challenge for them to be able to do it because their eye-hand coordination. After the ball rolled out, then they see the ball show up again so they learn object permanence.
