As a Montessori teacher of some 10+ years, the quality and price is impossible to beat. Forget Etsy and Nienhaus and make this purchase! Hope they come out with more items!

I bought it for almost 10 months old baby.He figured it out in first few minutes and then got bored.May be I bought it too late and he already had learned about object permanence.

I am very satisfied with my purchase. It is built sturdy. The ball rolls out every time. My 11 month old is still in the stage of placing things in his mouth, so he licks it and then drops it in the hole. I sit with him while he uses it. After a while, I will leave him alone with it. I always point to the whole and say in. I read some of the complaints from other viewers, but I have zero complaints. I am glad the other comments did not deter me. I read about this several times before deciding to give it a try since there were a lot of good reviews in spite of some bad ones. It was a prime item, so I received it in two days. I am a satisfied customer.

Toy arrived as described. It works as described but its very loud. The sound of the wood ball dropping onto the wood box over and over is obnoxious. Would be better if there was something to cushion inside that muffles the sound. We had to take it out of the play area because the sound was problematic.

I was really afraid from the reviews Id seen that this wouldnt be sturdy, but its solid. I have 5 kids and have seen it sat on and stood on and its sturdy as can be. My son has had it since he was 11 months (he is now 13 months) and its his favorite. He is so proud when he puts the ball in and then catches it as it comes out. Now we also stuff my daughters play silks in it and he will pull them out. It keeps him from doing it to our tissue box!

This is such a great learning toy as well as confidence-building! Once my grandson mastered putting the ball in the hole (at about 10 months old), he was sooooooo proud of himself! Hes 14 months now and still plays with it every single day. I bought it to stay at my house, but my daughter was so thrilled with how her baby loved it, that she said it had to be at her house! This is going to be gift for new mothers. Youve got to get it.

I think this is one of the more interesting toys my daughter has. It doesnt light up or make crazy sounds. But it does have a very satisfying plop when the ball hits and comes out. Well made. Traditional toy. Simple and elegant. Pros: Stimulating Keep her attention longer than I expected. Cons: She is often just more interested in eating the ball. The toy is a little too big for a baby to do both motions from the sitting position. Sharp corners on the wood. Kind of expensive.

  • Object permanence is the understanding that objects continue to exist even when they cannot be perceived (seen, heard, touched, smelled or sensed in any way).

  • The concept of object permanence plays a significant role in the theory of cognitive development created by psychologist Jean Piaget. In the sensorimotor stage of development, a period that lasts from birth to about age two, Piaget suggested that children understand the world through their motor abilities such as touch, vision, taste, and movement.

  • Object Permanence box with tray is the first level (Easiest Level ) for children from 8 months to one and a half approximately.

  • Child would have to take the ball and put it through the hole. For little baby it is a challenge for them to be able to do it because their eye-hand coordination. After the ball rolled out, then they see the ball show up again so they learn object permanence.
