> 3 dayI saw a video review complaining about this item not coming with a fan or a braided wire shroud. It’s a direct replacement for the hotend. If you want a hotend with a fan and wire shroud already put together, you’re going to pay for those extra parts and assembly. The process is not difficult, but it definitely helps if you have some electronics experience or are good with your hands. If only your hotend needs to be replaced, here are the steps: 1. Remove the Allen head bolts from the fan/cover assembly and move it to the side. 2. Remove the two Allen head bolts holding the hotend to the plate. 3. Cut all the zip ties on the wire bundle/ Bowden tube, all the way to the rear of the assembly that has the SD card slot in it. 4. Remove the two large Allen head bolts on the far left side of the Ender (left of the SD card slot and micro USB) 5. Remove the two smaller Allen head screws just above the SD card slot and above the two bolts removed in step 4. 6. Carefully turn the entire printer upside down and remove one Allen head screw from the middle of the bottom of the assembly. 7. Carefully remove the cover you have just undone. 8. Undo the black tape securing the wire bundle and gently separate the hotend braided wire shroud from the bundle of other wire shrouds. 9. Trace the wires coming from the hotend and fan, make a note (or take a photo) of where they go, remove the two fan connectors (mine had hot glue on them, which had to be scraped off) and loosen the small flathead screws that hold the heating element and thermostat wires. 10. Gently remove the entire hotend (and fan) wire bundle, ensuring all wires/connectors are removed and aren’t snagged on anything. 11. Gently pull the old hotend holding the fan assembly in place, so that only the hotend wires are pulled through the wire shroud. 12. Tape the new hotend wires together to help guide them through the shroud. 13. Collapse the wire shroud from the loose wire side, causing the shroud to expand to about 3/4” wide. Hold in place. 14. Gently push the new hotend wires through the shroud, from the fan side. Be sure to pay attention to the wires as they pass through the shroud and avoid the wires going through the braids to the outside of the shroud. 15. Give yourself enough slack on the opposite side and reconnect the wires, cables you disconnected in step 9. 16. Redo the black tape securing all the wire bundles together. 17. Re install the cover and Allen head screws removed in steps 4-7. 18. On the hotend side, Install the screws removed in step 2. 19. Reinstall the fan/cover assembly and the two screws removed in step 1. 20. Zip tie as necessary to keep a neat and snag free printer. Optional: Slap the top of your Ender in an endearing manner and crack open a beer.

> 3 dayHad to replace the old hot end since i done goofed up the original one while changing the nozzle. It is as simple to install as it is to remove it. I did keep the original heating element and thermistor since those still work (and so I dont have to re-route wires n stuff) Does everything exactly as the original, so nothing else to comment on. 10/10 NOTE: Buyer do read/see what it comes with. It does not come with the fitting to connect to your filament drive in case you needed to replace that. Thats all folks.

> 3 dayWhat can I say it saved my machine. My machine for some reason has been having issues since the new brand filament. Biggest issue would be the filament leaking out and around the heat block. This caused boogers, many failed prints and wasted an entire roll of filament for one print. While cleaning the oozing filament around the heat block my printer froze and would not boot pass the logo screen. Research upon research I couldn’t find a solid answer but one word thermistor. So seeing as I couldn’t remove the screw to replace the thermistor with the filament encasing it I bought this. Install was easy, quick and problem solving. As soon as I finished installing the new hotend kit and powered on the machine I was back inside the printer menu. I will admit with the amount of issues I’ve had I’m hesitant and am printing small things at the moment. The prints I’ve gotten have been flawless, better than before. Can’t beat this cost on this for the headache it fixed.
