I tried many others but finally settled on this, little pricey but thats worth spending. Picture quality is much better than DLP ones like ViewSoinc or Optoma.

I almost didn’t pick up this projector due to repeated concerns about focus uniformity. I’ve had no issue whatsoever with this. I think it may be because I didn’t require a ton of vertical or horizontal lens shift though I did use it. This picture is bright enough to be serviceable in a room with three windows during the day and when the lights go out it’s truly special. The contrast is truly phenomenal. Does it have OLED blacks? No. But I’ve got a 100” image and it’s a more beautiful picture than any modern tv I have in my home. I’d be shocked if you could find anything better for a similar use case for $1500 refurbished (what I paid.) If you don’t want to pay $3000 this is a great projector for you.

This projector is bright. I did not notice color issues or bluish tint when using dynamic. HDR looked good. The lens on this projector is a problem. When fully zoomed out, there is a clear difference in the focus. You are not able to focus the entire picture. If you have text on a screen at the top and bottom and middle, you have to pick two of them to be perfect and one to be slightly blurred. Or you can make them all a little off. This was reproduced at a zoomed in level, but not as noticeable. The fan on this is loud. Unless you are in ECO mode, medium and high power consumption is annoyingly loud. High is unbearable unless you have a party.

There’s nothing quite like seeing a classic epic film on the big screen, but this projector makes it possible to come as close as you can at home. It’s not too heavy or too big, so you can either permanently set it up or bring it out as needed for movie night or the big game. The picture is great and compatible with 4K for the highest quality video you can have.

I ended up using a wireless HDMI cable. Wi-Fi connection requires a separate device and seems complicated. Otherwise it’s a great projector.

The projector says “No Signal” from HDMI even though there is an incoming signal and the cable has been tested and works as expected. I’ve tested the other components in the AVR system and the projector is component that’s failing. I hope Epson or Amazon will send a replacement.

I found this projector to be too bright for a 84 diagonal screen. Beyond putting the lamp in ECO mode, there is no variable lamp brightness control. I spoke with epson customer service and they confirmed this. The projector is great during the day, but it is blinding at night, even on its dimmest setting. It seems like other epson projectors have a 30-100% lamp brightness control, but not this one. Its too bad because it is hard to find a 4k projector with a long-throw lens like this one has. Otherwise, the projector seemed great. If you have ambient light or a much larger screen, this would be a good choice.

Steve went out of his way to help us out. We absolutely love the Epson 3800 Projector. Works great with my Bluetooth sound system. Just have it against my textured wall and the picture is good. I can’t wait for my screen to show up. Thanks for your help Steve at Hatchfield Co. Will buy from their company again in the future!

This is my first projector and loving it so far. Have had it for over about a week and have it on a 92 inch fixed frame screen. Was able to get the corners aligned and scything without much hazle. The lens shift dials at the top make it easy to move the screen UP/DOWN & LEFT/RIGHT by a good amount so you minimize keystone and quick corner use. Noticed that the center tents to be focused while the edges are out of focus, started playing with the Sharpness settings and bumped it up all the way and was able to focus the edges of the screen without issue. You should be able to bring down the HDR settings so image is brighter while keeping the ECO setting to expand bulb life.

I switched to this from my old 3000 Lumen 720p projector. I had expected a clarity improvement, but I was unsure about the drop down to 2900 Lumens since the 3000 wasnt great in a brighter environment that I sometimes have. Im pleased to say that I was blown away by the improvement in clarity and completely surprised by the brightness. I know the rating is 100 Lumens lower, but it seems significantly brighter than my old projector.
