> 3 dayAmazing hood overall, super clear view. Only problem I have is the placement of the sensors, when I weld in a confined position with just enough room to see the arc my hands will block the sensors from the sides and flash me. Would be nice if it had a fifth sensor in the middle. Still and amazing helmet overall, well worth the money

> 3 dayIt’s nice with the grind mode button on the outside, but the marketing for “anti scratch resistance” is really a hoax, the lens got scratch up by just the slightest rub against anything but the head gear is really one of the best I ever had and the touch screen is a nice touch as well. Just be prepared to keep having to order new lens every couple months just like any other hat. Overall 4/5 would be 5/5 if the price was 100 bucks less

> 3 dayI weld everyday. This hood has a slight delay in it and has messed my eyes up over the past 2 weeks of use. I will not be using it anymore. The only good thing about this hood is its weight. It’s very light but you will go blind using it…

Greater than one weekIv had my hood for about 6 months now and here are my thoughts- Overall the hood is ok… the optical clarity is decent and the lens size is average. For as much space there is inside I don’t see why the lens couldn’t be an inch bigger. The hood is extremely comfortable and fits well. It’s easy to work with it on for extended periods of time. It flips down and flips up better then any hood Iv ever used. It is a crisp click when it falls in place. In the 6 months of owning I have done everything from .052 flux to stainless tig. The hood functions well and Iv only had a few cases where the auto darken was delayed by a fraction of a second but still enough to give you ark flash. The sensitivity adjustment makes 0 difference in my “expert” findings but the delay does seem to work as it should. I have had the same batteries in it from when I got it and they are still at a full charge (this is 6 months of welding 8+ hours a day) The plastic is kinda flimsy but still holds up well to the heat (and a few accidental drops) The biggest drawback in my opinion are the covers. They scratch and crack very easily. They also don’t create a full seal so dirt and dust get inside the helmet and scratch the lens. The cost of replacement covers is absolutely ridiculous. A few days of welding flux and the cover is done for. The grind mode works fine but the LED that flashes inside to remind you to not burn your eyes out of your sockets blinks so slow it’s pointless. (Small detail yes but iv flashed myself so many damn times I’m pissed enough to mention it) The touchscreen works about 70% of the time. Clicking something 3 times to get it to work is annoying. (Props for making the grind button mechanical) keep in mind the touchscreen will not work with gloves or if your hands are dirty. Overall this hood is a solid 7/10. It is a bit overpriced but hey you get a Esab logo. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone who only welds flux. More of a solid wire/Tig hood. If you arnt a dumb gen z like me and are able to use a fixed shade id pick up a cheap Jackson instead. Hope this helps!

> 3 dayHelmet is great. Clear vision of the welds, spacious for a big head. Only problem is mine didnt come with the free accessories, took a while to get customer service to get it sent to me. But they did sent it after a few problems with shipping.

12-06-2025Great helmet for tig welding 100% recommended Be aware if dropped it will always end up scratching the front lens
