20-11-2024I purchased this gate about 12 years ago when I had my first toddler in the house. The product at that time was sturdy, durable, heavy-duty. I had the item well after my last child needed it and used this gate outdoors to block off areas of the yard to keep dogs and chickens from wondering into the front. Anyway, after all those years of weathering, getting beat up and kicked around, my final gate panel broke and I purchased this new one. I received it yesterday and needed to express my disappointment in this gate. I do understand that over the course of time companies try to save money and make changes. However, this gate is no longer the quality item it used to be. Cheap plastic, not heavy-duty, it does not stand up as strait as the old one did, the plastic is thin and when set up it does not stand rigid; I need to prop the ends up against something to hold it up (I didnt need to do that with the old one). Mind you, I am not using this with all the pieces connected together in order to close up a child, I use mine to keep the chickens off the deck, so maybe it may be sturdier when connected together. However, I cant imagine this gate would be sturdy enough to withstand a child pulling itself up or banging against it. That being said, I do like the improvements made on the connective features-they have made it easier to take the pieces apart and secure together. I also like the option of colors although I do wish they still offered the brown tone. Overall, Im keeping it, it works for my needs and was reasonably priced, but it will not survive 12 years like the old one. Im sure some millennials will think this product is great, but they have nothing to compare it with. Too bad.

Greater than one weekWe got this for our new puppy, and we love it. Folds easy, we can put it outside, and we even use it to corral off an area to give her more space during the day. Great product.

> 3 dayLots of sharp edges on the inside - so, we turned it inside out. Seems like a design flaw.

24-11-2024The last one of these I bought, was to keep puppies away from the Christmas tree. So I figured it would work to keep them from getting to close to the brooder with the baby chicks in it. It works perfectly. The dogs can still see the chicks but can’t get right up to them and scare them. A few weeks later when the chicks went outside in the front yard in a chicken tractor during the day, I took it out and put it around that too. Again, works perfectly. It’s easy to adjust the size by removing a panel if needed. And it’s sturdy enough to not worry about it being tipped over yet light enough to easily carry it to wherever you need to put it. And it folds flat without any difficulty. The fact that it folds flat makes storage much easier. My dogs are rat terriers so they are on the smaller side. 1 weighs about 20 lbs and is not terribly tall, maybe 10”. Her brother is quite a bit bigger, about 30 lbs and early 3-5” taller. They have stood on their hind legs, front feet on the top of this play yard and with the back side secured against the wall or in our case, the wood stove there was no worries it would move. And though they could look over the top of it and into the brooder, they couldn’t jump over. If you had a dog that was a jumper by nature it might not be tall enough to keep them from going over the top but in our case, one is a bit chubby and not much into jumping. His sister is more so but she was too short to get over it. So if you want to keep something inside the yard safe from whatever, I recommend this. This is the second one we’ve had in the last 12 yrs ( would still have the first one of it hadn’t been loaned out and their dogs hadn’t chewed it all up. All in all, sturdy, easy to use and move and good quality for many many years of use for a large variety of things.

23-11-2024Bought to keep our baby from pulling ornaments off the tree. The 6 sided one fits perfectly around the tree.

> 3 dayThis really helped when you need to do things around the house. My only critique is my 1 1/2 year old would climb and it would fall over. Not for big kid use.

> 3 dayIt is a littler bigger than I anticipated but to be fair I based that assumption off the picture and didn’t look at the size. It is everything we needed/expected. Gives the little one room to play but contains her. Kind of awkward to fold for storage but you get used to it.

> 3 dayWe ordered this for our two dogs to keep them contained when its time for bed in the house. Its large enough for two large dog beds and two dogs-a 74# dog and 17# dog.

> 3 dayMy grandson was 9 months old the first time that I set up the play yard, and he immediately began to climb up. When he stands up and shakes the panels, they move a lot. The instructions stated to put the panels together so that the smooth side of the ribs/supports in the middle of each panel faces the outside of the play yard. This does not make sense, but I did it, so within a few minutes of placing my grandson inside the play pen, he had already hit his face against the inside of the ribs and hurt his face, so I now place the open side of the ribs on the outside of the play pen. They plastic mesh sides are fairly rough, too, so that when the child slides his face down a panel, his skin is red for a while. I am rather disappointed in this play pen. I expected better quality.
