05-06-2025This thing is cute and perfect for a juvenile spider or even a Pacman frog. Unfortunately, the door shakes back and forth even when locked. While opening the box-within-a-box, an accomodation that Amazon has wisely provided to limit damage in shipping, I could hear what sounded like glass shaking. Evidently, theres some play in the (plastic) locking mechanism since even when locked the door shakes back and forth. Clearly Hagen and Exo Terra have limited quality control because they seem to have ignored it. The additional movement of the door increases the characteristic seam or gap where the door meets the left glass wall. This is typical of Hagen since they know they have the Market cornered here. Even the ubiquitous Zoo Med only offers the NT1 which is larger than this ET Nano/Wide. One is given the impression a spiderling could escape through it since there is this additional 1/4 inch sway in the hinge allowing the door to open even more. Im still considering wheather a deal breaker or not. This is the first time I have encountered this problem and I dont think I can fix it on my own. Its a shame really since its a nice little enclosure.

> 3 dayI needed a small cage for two acorn-sized snails, and this terrarium works great. I removed the foam backdrop without any difficulty, and its easy to reach my hand inside to change the water/food dishes. Very functional and sturdy despite the small size.

> 3 dayEverything about this thing is as described. Looks nice and not cheap (because actually it wasn’t cheap). Easy to use and clean. My issue is that wow, it’s even too small for my little tarantula. I don’t know what you stick in here? I’m using it for now but I’ll prob just buy a normal 5 gallon tank for my tarantula and keep this as a recovery center for lizards I save from my cats.

> 3 dayI have a very small, 2 years old, male Kenyan sand boa. He is a rescue and refuses to eat on his own. The pet store I got him from does not feed live mice to their pets and so for about a year and a half this poor guy was forced to eat food to keep him alive. I was given him because he was finally deemed unsellable. He prefers a small cage, being approached from the side and live food. And so began my search for the right cage. I had bought a critter keeper but I only stressed him out by reaching down at him. I then took my hot knife and cut the front out, using tape to keep him in. Not the best but it worked as I looked for a new cage. I searched online and this was the best. I love it! Unlike most of the reviews I read there is nothing wrong with the closing mechanism or any gaps in the door. It is watertight for the bottom part and my only real issue is because of the vent, sand can come up through it and get pushed out. Sand boas like to dig. Overall this is a great tank and Im very happy I spent the money for it! Im not sure if I would recommend this tank only because of how small it is. if someone has a similar situation or keeps bugs then this is definitely the tank you need! This is yet another Exo terra tank Im proud to own!

> 3 dayWell constructed and simple to set up. My order came direct from Hagen (the manufacturer) and was very well packed, as you would hope glass would be. Got it on sale and Im very pleased with my purchase. Heck, Im about to spend more on an LED light for it than for the terrarium itself!

> 3 dayI was traveling for 19 days with Rosie my red haired tarantula, It is smaller than her regular aquarium, but she was comfortable. I actually think she liked living in the smaller area.

> 3 daySeems like a nice terrarium but be aware of leaks and test it once you get it. What happened to quality control?!
