Great watercolor pencils! I purchased these as a present for someone who paints watercolors and he loved them. The pigments are completely water soluble - much better than my Prismacolor watercolor pencils.

Ich habe die Stifte erworben für ein Malbuch für Erwachsene von der Johanna Basford Edition. Es macht viel Freude mit diesen hochwertigen Faber Castell Aquarellstifte zu arbeiten. Im Nachhinein bereue ich es, nicht doch die größere Version mit 36 Stiften erworben zu haben, andererseits komme ich auch derzeit so gut aus. Qualitativ merke ich beim arbeiten, dass ich mit hochwertigen Farben arbeite und habe viel Freude beim malen.

I have many brands of watercolor pencils, including both these Faber-Castel Albrecht Durer and Caran dAche Museum Aquarelle Pencils. By far, my preference is the Faber-Castel. They simply perform wonderfully and I would never want to be without them. That is not to say that the Caran dAche are bad, they are not, my personal preference is for the performance, feel and color range of the Faber-Castel.

I got this because I have two individual pencils of the same kind that I bought years ago, and I wanted more colors. Pencil needs to be laid down fairly thick to get a nice wash (unless you want something very transparent). My main issue is the color selection. Particularly the red. Compared to my cadmium red of the same brand, the scarlet comes out rather pink. In an ideal world, I would be able to pick out the exact colors Id want in a set. But as it is, it is serviceable. Colors would match any other basic set of colors. Overall, its fine.

They are amazing!! I cannot recommend these pencils enough. You can make AMAZING things with this set.

Sehr super Stifte aber bei der Marke hatten wir auch nichts anderes erwartet. Wir würden jederzeit wieder Faber Castell bestellen.

Beautiful bright and easy to use. I have never used watercolours before and thought these would be nice to try. I am so pleased with them. I bought water fill brushes to go with them and this combination seems fantastic.

These watercolor pencils have bright pigments that are totally water soluble. I would recommend these for the beginner and advanced artist because the colors are so brilliant, mixable into neutrals and pastels, and actually handle like watercolors once wet. The fine point is great for detail and mixed media work, and several layers will allow you to decide how much to dilute and spread the pigment. A small set of these is more dynamic than a large set of lesser watercolor pencils, and you can put your finished work behind glass and be assured it will last. You just cant get the same colors with other products. I also use these for drawing a sketch before applying liquid watercolors. Since they completely dissolve, your sketch doesnt have to be visible in the final product. Dipping the watercolor pencil in water allows you to put down hard lines which are less able to dissolve - great for textures. My students love them as a transition from drawing to painting.
