> 3 dayI dyed a yellow leather bag black, I used another sealer on a textured strap and it peeled off so I bought this sealer/Resolene which has worked great. time will tell but so far extremely happy with the results.

Greater than one weekVery easy to use. It protected the dye job I did on a leather handbag. It went on easy and dried fairly quickly.

> 3 day2+ year update (new picture added) Jackets still going strong. I ended up going over it a few more times with dye after I wrote my 2014 review (had an accident with some wet paint in my buildings lobby). Luckily, the dye still took through the resolene and the waterproofing I used (Fiebings snow proof). After that, I simply followed the same steps as below and then went over the jacket with more snow proof. As of today, the jacket smells fine and gets a compliment pretty much every time I go out in it. Good stuff. I mulled over the right finish for a while, but Im glad I chose this one. I used it on an old mustard yellow jacket that I dyed brown. I didnt buff the jacket, as recommended once I finished dying and (sorta) conditioning it, to wipe off any excess color. But I found that after I applied a few coats of this finish, I had no color transfer whatsoever when rubbing the (dry) jacket with a (dry) microfiber applicator. You should know that it doesnt make the leather waterproof. I dropped a bead of water on my jacket as a test and the water absorbed. I expected that, however. I also rubbed at the spot with the applicator and didnt get any color transfer. Just for the purposes of this review, I dropped quite a bit more water on the jacket and took some tissue and rubbed the wet spots. I got some slight color transfer. Especially on the inner portion of the jacket where I didnt apply as much finish. Im sure its my fault for not fully buffing the jacket/not adding enough finish. Sort of off topic, but I have a leather knapsack from Morocco that I my aunt gave me as a gift a few years ago. The bag looks sealed in almost the same way as on my jacket, but I would say the color runs even more on the knapsack. I dont wear the bag in the rain, but Ive gotten stains on my white shirts in the underarm area where the straps meet my armpits. So while Id be comfortable sitting on my light colored couch or wearing a white shirt beneath while the jacket is dry, Im going to buy some manner of waterproofing beeswax (gotta mull over which one now) and apply it to the jacket before I go out in a monsoon for added confidence. For those worried about the shine, as I was from reading reviews, dilute this stuff with water. I used a mix of 50/50 (I eyeballed it, so it was probably a bit more water). It looks like the stuff you wax floors with, which I hear people do use in place of this. If youre familiar with floor wax, then you know you dont want to lay it on too thick in one area. If it looked too milky in one spot, I spread it around and rubbed it in. I cant really say how many coats I did. My method was rubbing it in with the microfiber applicator until the shine of each area looked roughly the same. I probably did this two or three times across the front while it was wet, then I let it dry and did the back of the jacket. The end result was shiny, but not overly so. Id say it looks pretty much like a new leather jacket shine. The jacket feels fine, but it does have a sort of crunchy sound to it when I manipulate. Sort of like a raincoat. Also, my younger sister jokes that I smell like old people when I have it on. I think shes thinking of the smell of the freshly mopped and waxed floors at our beloved grandfathers *dips 40 oz of virtual Colt 45* house. He used to use this cherry floor cleaner with it that gave everything a distinct smell. Admittedly, the jacket does have a slightly sweet smell after applying the finish. Its strange, since before dilution/application it smelled pretty noxious. The smell doesnt bother me too much, though, and Im sure it will go away. Adding a pic of the finished jacket for reference. The little square yellow patch/tag is the bit I didnt bother to dye.

> 3 dayAfter cleaning my old leather purse, I applied the Resolene finish. Was easy to apply, went on smoothly, dried quickly and gave a new sheen to my tired leather purse. Would recommend!

> 3 dayI applied 3 coats (drying between the application ) on my old leather chair that I just dye using same brand. I have not seat on the chair with light color clothes, so I am not sure if color will rub off or this will really seals the dye. I will come back and update the review. Just for the looks of this finished, it is shiny, but doesnt look bad for the chairs that I have. However, it maybe bit too shiny if you are using it on clothing.
