> 3 daythis is my second mount from firestix first one on my silverado and this one winch is picuted is on my armada. its made very well and very adjustable and will fit in those tight spots. one thing to note is the screws that come with it to go in to the body are garbage just throw them out and go to the store and get ones , on both my installs the threads on the screws rip off wile going to pre-drilled holes. also it dose not hurt to use thread locker. l learned that on my first time installing one of these on my pick up hehe.

> 3 dayScrew snapped in half when installing. Had to drill it out and replace. Other than the time and extra 12 cents for proper screws it works pretty good. Would recommend loctite on angle holding screws and torque down before installing bracket on vehicle cause you can’t get to them after installing.

> 3 dayI got this for my aluminum truck and mounted at the top of the bed in the tail gate area. Tailgate closes without interference. I wouldnt use a fat or heavy antenna while driving but it is fine for Hamsticks and Hustlers. While parked, I can mount heaver and longer antennas such as a 17 collapsible whip got 20M POTA.

> 3 dayOk so the bracket is nice and quality steel it seems, but you will want to get some hex head screws or some alternative to the Phillips head screws it comes with. I wanted my mount to be nice and sturdy where I mounted it behind the taillight on my xterra and when tightening these all but one screw got all galled up extremely easily. I’m extremely handy and do all my own auto work, so it wasn’t user error. Get some hex head 1/2 -3/4 #12 machine screws in advance of ordering this and you’ll thank me. 1/2 inch #12 screws is what it comes with, but they’re awful short for many applications.

> 3 dayEasy to install, took about 15 minutes, I drilled tiny pilot holes through the sheet metal and the included screws tightened down nicely. I haven’t had it for long but it seems to be what I needed for my antenna.

02-06-2025Maybe I missed it, but this is not a universal fit application. It is a good quality piece and could fill a specialty niche. It even arrived two days earlier than expected. I am going to have to heavily modify the mounts in order make them work at all on a Ram 1500 crew cab.
