I love the sound produced by this turntable. I upgraded to the Blue Ortofon 2M cartridge. I am using it with the Fosi Audio Box X4 Phono Preamp. My set up includes a Denon receiver and passive speakers. I am amazed by the warmth and beauty of the sound. I listen to all styles of music, but it is especially beautiful for classical and jazz. I am still in the break in period so I am looking forward to how it will sound in the near future. Turntable assembly was simple, but I did have to attempt the tonearm leveling several times until I got it right. For some reason, I had trouble following the instructions even though, in retrospect, they were very clear. Once I did, the sound was amazing. I followed the instructions which said to position the speakers away from the turntable and NOT on the same surface as the turntable. I cant emphasize enough how much difference this made. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

Im an old guy. Ive been buying and listening to LPs since the 60s. Ive bought and sold more stereo setups than I can recall, in flush $ times and lean. This is by a long ways the best turntable Ive ever owned. It has a great feel in use, and the heavy acrylic platter eliminates static electricity. The open, spacious top end of the sound of the turntable, combined with the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge, and my Bowers & Wilkins speakers, is breathtaking. Its like a ceiling was removed. My current vinyl collection is all new again.

I love my new fluance rt85 turntable. The acrylic platter almost eliminates static noise while the ortofon blue cartridge brings my albums to life.very happy with my purchase.

This is a great sounding turntable. I recently replaced my rega pl1 with this. And so far Im very impressed. Its got some weight to it and feels sturdy and well built but its not a plug and play. You need to know what youre doing when balancing the tone arm for the first time. Watch the tutorial videos on the fluance website first. After that shes all good. Happy spinning!

It took my husband forever to figure out how to set up the tone arm properly, using the instructions, internet/youtube advice and how-to videos. But everything else was pretty easy between the two of us figuring it out (instructions are, as with most electronic equipment these days, not always easy to decipher). But I cannot ignore the fact that it looks fantastic and albums sound awesome. I have many Fluance speaker systems throughout the house, and this is my second Fluance turntable. I have always been entirely satisfied with their products. This was no exception.

This is my 4 month review. I decided to hold off and put this baby through its paces before putting my 2 cents in. In a nutshell, after owning many low and high-end tables over my 40 years of vinyl-love, this one is the absolute sweet spot to me. Sub $500, there is no better deal or higher quality TT for the money. You get a 2M Blue, super high-end acrylic platter, top-notch quality plinth, quality everything else, and a partridge in a pear tree. As I said on the tag line....if youre looking for a TT and want epic quality for the money without breaking the bank, but are unsure what to get, just pull the trigger man. You wont regret it.
