Beautiful looking turntable, comes with a high quality acrylic platter, gorgeous veneer and glossy finish heavy plynth, s-shaped tonearm, high quality Ortofon Blue 2m stylus, smooth belt drive. This turntable has so many out of the box great things going for it over other turntables in this price range. We are in love with this turntable!

This was a long-considered upgrade to an old Bang and Olufsen TX2 with an aged MMC3 cart. The unit was easy to unpack and setup and I was playing records within the hour. The documentation is thorough and the performance is exceptional at this price point. The Ortofon 2M Blue is able to extract detail from my older records that I hadnt heard before. Once I add the Fluance record weight this table will be even quieter and capable. Very satisfied with this purchase!

Got bitten by vinyl bug and this is my third turntable. I still have my old vintage German made Dual -505 and recently got a ubiquitous Audio-Technica 120 USB, had to return the Audio-Technica - and got Fluance RT85! What a sound! The records I have been listening since 1970-s now have the second birth, the sounds from RT85 is very crisp and the channel separation is truly outstanding. This is a really quiet and well thought out device . One fine print: that may be a bit too complex for beginners - so if you perfectly fine with sound of your local FM station from you car , the RT85 maybe the overkill -for everyone else please buy it! That was my purchase of the year. Very happy with it.

First things first. For what you get this turntable is amazing. The Ortofon blue produces amazing sound. I also have this paired with some Bowers bookshelves though. I really wanted to give the company 1 star over how they handled shipping. Communication was sloppy and I feel like I was lied too about when it shipped. I was not pleased with that. Once I got the turntable and set it up I changed my mind. I let the shipping fiasco slip and focused on the product. It’s amazing. Heavy, well built. The acrylic platter is awesome. Setup is easy, but you will need some tools to ensure it’s done right. Thankfully the cartridge came pre aligned, but the tone arm counterbalance is a little bit off. When I put a scale under the stylus their 1.8 was actually 2.0 for weight. I’d say to invest in a simple scale to make sure the right amount of pressure is being applied to your table. Not a big deal. At this level you should have some knowledge of how to set up a turntable anyways. The setup instructions they provide are good though. All in all it’s a great mid level turntable and more than enough to last for many years to come. I can see why the reviews are so good. I’ll definitely recommend this to others. Just don’t take what they say regarding shipping too seriously.

This was an amazing investment. I’m glad I started with a proper turntable that I know will last me for years. Pairing it with a Schiit Mani preamp, to my cheap Denon receiver (will replace later), to my KEF Q150’s has been a baller entry level experience into this hobby! As other reviews will tell you, all the features they pack into this turntable make it such a great price to performance machine

So, you have $500 to spend on a turntable. What to do after all the research youve done? The problem is you cant compare the sound of different TTs. Most people reading this are not in the weeds audiophiles. We dont constantly buy and sell components looking to tweak this or that. We just want something that sounds really good for the money and we plan to keep that gear for years. I can answer the sound part. My Fluance RT85 sounds fantastic to my ears. After years of listening to cds on my really nice system, I was skeptical that I would hear a major difference. I was wrong. The sound is hard to quantify. Its richer, fuller, more musical. Value for the money? I cant answer that. Does a $500 TT sound that much better than a $300 TT? I dont know. I had my budget, so I decided to buy the best TT, according to reviews, in my price range. Value vs. other brands? I had narrowed my choices to Fluance RT85 and Pro-ject DC EVO. Does Fluance sound better than Pro-ject? Probably not. I just felt the value was greater with the Fluance because of the acrylic platter and the generally agreed upon great sound of the ortofon blue cartridge. Plus, the anti-skate set up with the Pro-ject turned me off. So, long story short, you cant go wrong with the Fluance RT85 in this price range.

I couldnt be happier with this turntable. Im getting back in to vinyl and this was replacing a 35 year old turntable. Easy setup, it looks great and more importantly it sounds incredible.
