Installed I did! Worked it did!

My Glacier Bay toilet was leaking so I have ordered this unit as the replacement, but after less than 4 months, it is leaking again. After inspection, it appears that the (rubber?) shutoff disc (the 242 TOILET REPLACEMENT SEAL according to their website) was slightly broken, making it no longer tightly sealing the water flow. Id expected the whole product to last for longer time, its not under direct sunlight and its not withstanding extreme heat nor cold in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is only under very light, home usage, and I was shock when seeing it failing within 4 months of use.

in February 2016, I purchased 2 valves, used one, so had one on hand. Local plumbing supply stores did not carry them, so Amazon, here I come. The first one was installed by a plumber ($$$). Recently I have had excessive electric & gas bills that ate up any residual cash on hand, A few days ago, the toilet started leaking, I thought about calling a plumber ($$$), but that was another expense, so I started thinking about doing it myself, the worst I could do is make a mess. I read the instructions, it sounded easy, so with a prayer, I DID IT!!! AND it doesnt leak. Yahoooo ! This 81 year old female is a happy camper. Having the valve on hand made it easier, so Im another another.

This product fixed my problem for about 3 months. There is a serious flaw in the design - and this part will eventually leak water even when the lever is full up (floating). Eventually I will replace the toilet.
